Early night tonight for all.
Payday and accounts day tomorrow isn't it ?
Unless Friday isn't the end of the normal working week anymore can you feel the twist yet ? payday may happen but accounts if filed won't be available to view just yet with a copy and receipt being wafted under the judges nose meaning the judge may be forced to adjourn in order to digest the accounts.
I fear the devil is in the detail the judge didn't mention anything having everything settled recorded and available as pre reading before the big day.
WOT that's not another last minute signature dash I hear !

Thank Friday its Crunchie
It's now due to be even busier than expected with Stephen Darby supposed to be signing. Is it a typo and he's supposed to be singing it is karaoke night tonight

Is the paperwork delay on the Darby signing. anything to do with getting paid next month than this? Still short of a centre back left back, holding midfielder, attacking midfielder and 2 strikers. Good to have a Darby playing for us again.

Darby confirmed on 2 year deal. Down to one that can come in?

Fear not now the backs are sorted Madine says the rest don't matter as he is going to break all scoring records this coming season. He's joining the flying pigs aerobatic team. Marc Iles has signed up as well he'll be doing the commentary on FarceBook.

Whistles have gone at workhouses mills and factories across Bolton.
No not the end of the 14hr working day it was the whistle which signifies the promises of Chairman Ken have not been met.
Pigs on hearing the news have returned to their hangers.

Only the sound of the Beano clock remains tick tock tick tocking as it has done on many occasions prior to a jolly boys outing to them big courts in London

There's that adjournment again as well isn't British justice supposed to be the best in the world ? Now we can't believe a judge when they say no more that's it the next hearing will be on the date they say and it will be the last.
Like me do you feel this is all a rouse buying Chairman Ken time to appeal the ACV. It may also indicate Blue Mable is worried and doesn't want or can't afford to end up with ownership of any assets being ordered by the judge.

Luckily that recent refurb of the Beano clock should keep it ticking nice and loud during yet another delay.

Looks like zero chance of the embargo being lifted this window.

Surely they (the FL) can only strengthen it now. It's been said before it's about time they took hold of this properly. It can't be good for the game or it's image to have this panto running for so long.
How long did The Mouse Trap last will we be under an embargo and monitoring longer than the play lasted in the West End

Every chance of a total embargo being placed. Promising start to the summer recruitment but still need extra depth and quality to survive relegation.

Carrs pasties new sponsor of the North stand. Every little helps.

posted on 7/7/17

Do you remember Carrs from the old 606 days ? I think I am related to him it.

Look on the bright side this flurry of posts tonight is taking us a lot closer the 250 mark before a pre season ball is kicked. Which reminds me are we going to keep everything under the one thread here or are we going for separate pre season threads and separate threads in between sort of back to normal ?

posted on 7/7/17

Would like to carry on doing match threads from the Leeds game unless anyone else wants to take it over. Leeds do a joint thread anyway so crewe in the cup then? Wasn't going to do separate threads for the pre season games but if anyone wants to then fine by me. No plans to go to any games until Leeds.

I'll second that Benny

Rumours that spearing will reveal his future tomorrow. Odds on Wigan or maybe Blackburn. Big opportunity for Derik to fill that position. Technically a better player.

Benny,it wouldn't be the same if you stopped doing the match threads.keep up the good work. 5⭐️

Benny
How are you with sums if we give you a minus figure to start with ?
Just asking like as the option of a points deduction is still open to the FL

Interesting choice of words in the Beano headline.
Bolton Wanderers have severed contract talks with ex-Liverpool midfielder Jay Spearing

posted on 8/7/17

So the Jay bird has flown the nest. By mutual agreement it would seem, despite the headlines in the beano suggesting otherwise.

No agreement on the money it seems but with player so highly paid, it's hardly surprising that Jay didn't want to take a massive hit, which in all probability is what it amounted to.

The club are obviously right not to compromise their stance on trying to make the club self sufficient and that means cutting wages to a sustainable level. We all know what influence agents have on players and they obviously feel Jay can do better. It's a pity as we really could have done with having him in the team but not at the expense of the club.

There are other players out there and correct me if I'm wrong but Jay is no spring chicken. Perhaps a younger player will come in and make an impact. That is of course if PP doesn't opt for a 30 + player, which he may well do.

Pick n Mix from our various teams for todays opening pre season game at Chorley.
Will an Alex make an appearance ?

posted on 8/7/17

Spearing was on around £18k a week. The embargo limits Bolton to renew at £10k a week. Always going to come to this. Good luck if he can get what he wants at Wigan or blackburn. Going up to the championship feels like going up to the premier league in 2001. Bolton just can't compete financially. It's more unlevel than the premier league is now. Just all about survival.
