I must admit, one of the most fascinating things about a site like this is you really do get out of your so called echo chamber and discover a real mix of depressing idiots that I'd otherwise have no desire to listen to.

Ya.. for sure... It was hidden away when saf was winning things (though there was still misery about winning the league while not being that stylish )
I've got no issue with moaning when there is reason, eg after a match... But to already be moaning about how we might pay in a final
The game has the potential to be great.... Ajax leak goals but are scoring plenty... We have a bit of a make shift team and struggle against teams that sit back, but can do will when there is space

Do you not care about the FA Cup either then seeing as both Wigan and Portsmouth have won it in recent years?

He obviously later felt he had risen above the competition though. He wouldn't have prioritized it had United been in the title challenge.
It's nice to win any trophy, but obviously some are of less value then others. The FA cup is a nice cup to win, but even that isn't treated with much importance if the club has failed in other areas - hence why winning it couldn't save LVG his job last year.

Here is the one undeniable fact about that game: It is going to be a dire borefest of which we will be camped in our half for half the game.
The only thing that happens if we win is we wallpaper the massive cracks in this season.

Of course, but I can have two perspectives on an issue. We can and should win, it will be exciting, we will be in the CL. But we are 6th in the league, cup competition may lie, the league doesn't.
SAF always said the priority is to win one trophy in a season. IF we win that's two trophies and CL football. whatever way you spin it, that's pretty good for a managers first season, when our squad still needs a lot of work.

Winning the Europa League should just be a means to an end. Without the reward for a CL's spot, the trophy itself is worthless for a club like United.

Missing the point unnecessarily. This team was good enough to do better and the manager could not do so. How many here are clamouring for Moses, Alonso, matic, and Cahill. Heck people lmao when they bought back Luiz! Make no mistake about it they performed above expectation and that is thanks to a manager putting his players in a position to succeed.
How many games against Swansea, burnley, and teams who did not come close in player quality did we underperform in time and again. Was the squad they had better or we did. It play to our expectations?
Doing well in cups are great, but there is a reason why there is a Cinderella story every year. A bit of luck, a favourable draw playing defensive football sneaking a goal or two can get you far. The league is the true test of a team over a period.
