and I'm not having a go at you pov..genuinely interested in what your thoughts are.
bubbsy, each tae their own but some of theor songs and I defo heard the RA stuff today are not in my opinion needed, we have a team worth celebrating on their own without stuff that for me has no relevance to the sport we are watching
I've had too good a weekend to let a devisive issue like this spoil it. You must be at the wind up if you think an armed struggle doesn't lead to killing people.
It's not for me bubble. Like I said, I believe that you can have a time and a place for it, but at a football ground it's just not for me.
I wouyld limke it notd that my last post took a fair few minute tae type due to my current nick
as did this one¬!
Disgrace who are more interested in morons off the park than the team on it.
See pov..these guys like my grandad and his father were fighting off the might of an army who were murdering his family and friends and was indeed seen as defending themselves against this. Song is a good way.
That's good for them, and it's good that you want to honour them. I am very proud of our heritage, but as far as I'm aware, the RA didn't supply anyone to go into our team, therefore I'm not sure why you want to honour their memory by singing about them at a football game.
You have your view on it, I don't share it. I seriously doubt that a lot of the GB want to honour many people's memory. I think it's for a time gone by and I don't think it's the place for it. You don't.
You think the way of honouring and remembering your family is by singing a song about other people who were involved in an armed struggle. For me, it's not the place. Celtic are as much my team as they are yours. I go to watch a game of football, and I'd rather that if fans want to sing about struggles that meant people died that they did it somewhere else. It's just my view on it. I honestly don't know the words or the meaning of most of the songs. I've learned more about them on here-and most of the time from Rangers fans!!
Hopefully that shows you the extent of my interest in that particular subject.
Morons off the park Timmy?

I've never given you abuse. I have however scoffed at some of your view and comments.
As many have at mine you being one of them. That's what a forum can be about and we'll never all agree all the time.
There is a difference.
You do continue to make snide remarks about anyone who supported Deila. That is not in any doubt whatsoever.
Well I may as well pile in too.
Given the amount of utter drivel and nonsense you have posted over the years, I'd say there's a pretty good chance that the grandfather you referred to earlier is actually Norwegian or some such.
Away and make up some other pash and give us all peace.

Knew it wouldn't take you long
I don't make snide remarks about anyone that supported RD, however when I said the guy was a charlatan and a dud guys like yourself defended him and had a go at me on many occasion. It seemed that if you didn't toe the Celtic party line then you were mocked. I know all about the predictions that I made and a lot hung on to that as gospel and you slated them just the same way I slated Wrongie for almost destroying our team.
Fkn move on, Ronnys gone and he left a winner.
Football clubs are all about evolution, under his tenure he brought us Armstrong, Roberts, Sviachenko and Jozo and he blooded Tierney.
But that was then, enjoy the Now.

Get rid of that, distracts from the stuff they do best

They never will though.
As good as they are atmosphere-wise.. they really are a bunch of feckin idiots most of the time.

Hec....I was never really a ronnie fan. In fact I think I was on to him even before the so-called bubbsy.
But I posted on here that his tenure does need to be re-evaluated slightly.
I think Brendan only signed one of the starting eleven yesterday. Ronnie clearly had an idea of the team he wanted to construct..he just had no idea how to get it to work.
But when you look at the team he left behind (as opposed to the pile of utter kack left by warburton), you have to admit that he left a positive legacy.
Bubble, it's your constant need to try and prove you were right and anyone that said different was wrong. Deila took a job he was offered. If you want to have a dig, have a go at the people that appointed him. They took a chance and it didn't work out the way anyone wanted. He won 3 trophies and it could have been more. You talk about the constant abuse, well I can't remember you receiving anymore abuse than anyone else gets for holding an entrenched view. I backed Deila and thought he got a rough ride. Most of it unmerited. He left with my thanks, and his time was up.
Move on. Stop being snidey with comments like Wrongie. He still left as a 2 time league championship winner. At least give him some credit and acknowledgement, and just be happy with what we now have.
Is Grace a rebel tune?
Paradise would be a morgue without them, they do far more good than bad but with all the great chants they've brought some of the rebs are cringey, there is a time and place.
They won't change their ways unless they're shouted down and who is going to do that?
He hasn't moved on from the Easter Rising..hahaha.
These were songs sung from CP in the thirties onwards and even before I don't have an exact date but records show this. Such was the anti Irish feeling towards Celtic as a club, they were almost expelled from the Scottish league in the 50's for daring to fly the Irish Tricolour flag..and I do believe that Rangers FC voted against Celtic being thrown out.
Magnum.
Exactly, he got the opportunity and he took it, that's not his fault and like you said his time was up.
He is a football man, limited but obviously had a good eye for a player, he just didn't have a clue on how to utilise the players he, or whoever, brought in.
POV..it took BR to bring those players up to the level they are at now..under him they were very very ordinary stifled players and you are right..I did blame PL for pulling the wool over the fans eyes.
Jeezo, let it go man!
If we do somehow manage to reach 10 in a row, I would hope that both Lennon and Deila are invited, both having contributed to it.
