Stam has left United by the time VDS arrived......what about some lovely Juventus players like Del Piero and Pavel Nedved

posted on 12/9/11

Yeh but i'm pretty sure they played for Holland together. I'll add some Juve players in.

that would be one hell of a team!

I can't believe I missed out ZIDANE!!!!

NEDVED to replace Overmars for me. Heck, i might even put Robben to replace him. But Nedved was sublime - along with Zidane, the only player who is truly ambidextrous. They score and move with the ball with relative ease on both feet

Sorry guys according to Wiki Nedved came in the summer of 2001 which was the summer Juve signed Buffon an Van De Sar left for the bright lights of Fulham.

I'll move Robben out wide if that's the common consensus though

Carrick?

WHERE ARE ALL THE FULHAM PLAYERS?!

In between, Frank De Boer was a better defender than Vidic and Stam and could be argued Ferdinand. He has to be in the first eleven and if you are going for 4-3-3 or 4-5-1, i'd put Rooney on the Bench and have Nistelrooy or Kluivert - they are both more clinical than Rooney and are better spearheads than Rooney

Hnery instead of rooney for me.

posted on 12/9/11

^^ henrey was never an out and out striker and he offers no aerial threat so in that system, he wont fit. Kluivert or Nistelrooy are a better fit

Did Van der sar even played with Henry?

posted on 12/9/11

Well, he warmed the bench a lot - maybe he played with him once or twice in only one season he spent at Juventus but the gentleman above saw it fit to add him

Van der sar joined Juve the season Henry left. I doubt they had a competitive game together.

Henry was at Juventus for the 1998-1999 season

Van der sar was there, 1999-2000 & 2000 - 2001 seasons

so they never played together, not sure of the exact dates they transferred...

Most people would pick Rooney over Henry anyway. No doubting how good Henry was, but Rooney brings so much more to the table.

As Good as Rooney is, I'd take Henry in his pomp all day long and i am a manU fan, Henry had delivered consistently, Rooney still has a bit to do

Oh jesus. Hnery is the best striker to play in the premiership. Probably the best player seeing as he did it on a regular basis. Reguarly got close to 30 a season. Infact he got more than that 5 times in a row.

And his all round game was great, in terms of defensive side of his play then maybe you pick rooney and also based on his passing. In terms of all round attacking play and putting the ball in the back of the net and skill, its henry. And its not really a close decision.

See, we are agreeing here? We are adults after all. As U3123 have said, Henry is a better player than Rooney. Rooney might end up better but atm, nope.

I am not arguing that, although Shearer runs him close.

I explained why I, and probably most United fans, would put Rooney ahead of him.

And, I know you fully well understood why.

d'oh! of course you are right. For some reason i thought it was club mates only....

and i also forgot about Zidane :S

The quality of players he has played behind is immense.

I don't thing any other United player has played with as good a players as these.

Robben ahead of Giggs? Would also have to go with Ruud over Rooney given that Zidane and Scholes in that side would constantly create. Ruud is far more clinical.

interesting thread though.
