I feel the same way now as I did last week - it doesn't effect Liverpool either way so I'm not fussed whether Utd or Ajax win. I want Liverpool in the CL, whether Utd are there as well is pretty irrelevant to me.

I also feel the same way about Manchester as a city. The thing with Liverpool and Manchester is that we have more in common than either set of fans likes to admit. It's a great city with warm and genuine people. That's as true today as it was last week.

The whole of Manchester could be wiped out, leaving nothing but wasteland around Old Trafford and I'd still want United to lose. It's not unsympathetic, football has nothing to do with the events the other day.

Events on monday night were horrendous, and while a united win might lighten the mood a bit in manchester, it'll never come anywhere close to easing the pain of those who lost loved ones 48 hours earlier.
