Maybe not ideal but don't get over sensitive about it, it was only a chant in moment of euphoria.
The bloke's comedy gold:-
"Ahead of the clash, Lingard said: ‘We’ve come a long way and we’ve been all around the world playing different teams."

Hmmmm, it's a song that is sung over and over every weekend.
With the events on earlier in the week, and Cities response (classy may I add), it does come across as insensitive.
Guess the rivalry has to take off again at some point.
Lingard is a to$$pot it must be said.

Perhaps you may forgive me for being over sensitive mate after whats happened this week
What a shock Lingard being in the forefront of it all.
To be fair, they probably didnt see the tweet from City, I doubt they look at Twitter when preparing for the game. And in the heat of the moment, after a long and tough season, you win the big price, you lose your head a little. People read too much into this and the Mirror is just out to get as many views as possible, so they blow up the story.

I hear you and we're ALL effected by this weeks events, in the grand scheme of things a daft laddie singing a daft football song at a high point moment in his life is nothing to over-fret about.
Maybe so, the lads got History for being an idiot, all I ask to show a bit of feckin respect for each other, just for a short while, not too much to ask is it.

Oversenisitive? The article was understated and quite an arguably the least response I'd expect after what happened this week. He just said he was disappointed.

Lingard definitely has a punchable head.
Lingard was probably tired, they did have to play LA Galaxy, River Plate, Orlando Pirates and Melbourne City in the same week to get to the final.

Not sure the tweet has anything to do with it anyway, the city United rhetoric has been happening all week. It really doesn't take much intelligence to think it's not the best chant given the circumstances.
Having said that, it's not as if footballers are the most emotionally intelligent people at times...
Lingard is an idiot and he's been a passenger all season, can't blame him though i never bought into this United City love in either i wanted Ajax to win last night as always.
Reality is they have been awful all season playing woeful football and scoring less goals than Bournemouth ffs, the fact they are celebrating sneaking through the back door after beating a few sub standard European sides with the most expensive team ever assembled shows how far they've fallen
PS New hear fellow City fans hello
tbh I think it's ok. It's an indication of business as usual. I think both clubs responded well to the dreadful situation. You still won't catch me wearing a city/united friendship scarf.
They were thinking of City that's not a problem,,probably think they are up there with the best now
Damn i was actually touched reading this morning Utd dedicate it to the victims and what Mata said etc.
It's ill-timed and I agree disappointing, but at the same time it is a chant that is sung every week and I'm sure it had no links to what has happened this week.
No I don't think it was done with any malice or anything, just a bit misjudged.
If you read my first post I just said I was disappointed.
Putting aside the actual chant which was crass to say the least, I never understand why United sing that song anyway. Am I missing something regarding our domicile?
Lingard should probably have his phone confiscated on match days
He has no sense apparently
