Congrats and all that. But agree with shaun on the laugher that is a team full of loans.

Aye, but they've got the brass now they can go out and buy all these top name players, and their wags will be all over the shops and nightspots of Huddersfield

Congrats to Huddersfield well done. Enjoy the PL!! 👍

Castroleeds, did you mean "enjoy getting battered in the PL?" 😜

posted on 29/5/17

Even if they get battered they have now got ALOT of money.

But it will go pretty quickly Mike...

If they finish bottom next year, they'll bring in about £100 million (http://www.totalsportek.com/money/premier-league-prize-money/).

They've currently got a squad of 29 according to this,
http://www.soccerbase.com/teams/team.sd?team_id=1309

So, let's assume that they pay towards the bottom end of the scale as far as Premier League salaries are concerned (http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/731897/Premier-League-average-weekly-wages-sportgalleries), so averaging about £25K per week. That will take around £40 million alone. (And closer to £55 million if they're paying similar to West Brom.)

So, ignoring other wages entirely, they'll have about £60 million to spend on transfers and wages. (Or only £45 million, if they go the Baggies' route.)

One star player costing £20 million and taking a salary of £40K will take another £25 million out of that pot. And one could question the quality you'd get for £40K per week and a transfer sum of £20 million - yes, I know, far more than we can hope for, but by PL standards?

So, no more than a couple of big signings and they'll have spent most of the money.

Don't get me wrong, not trying to belittle what they've done - fantastic achievement and well done to them - but the talk of £170 million is about the potential income, not the actual income.

Money, meh, it doesn't last like it used to, hey?

Now, imagine being an owner, knowing that, and knowing you have to pay out £30mill upon promotion, almost makes milking a club for millions every year in championship look an easier option.

Don't forget that the £170m is only if they come straight back down (including the parachute payments over following seasons). But if they stay up there's an additional £100m + every year. Good luck to them, let's get up there with them.

Today is the day Leeds need to look up and wake the feck up. Hudds have made a fool of us and finished 3rd on merit. Time we did the same

Totally agree if we ever needed an incentive we have got one It was a difference of loanees and signings in the January window Issie Brown would have been the idea signing for ushe made a great difference for Town now they can buy him for £3m signing

Just Deja Vu, Bates didn't buy / loan in Jan when we were flying even though it was obvious we needed CB cover.

Massego didn't buy / loan in Jan even though it was clear we needed at least 1 midfield box to box player with some creativity / set piece taker.

Both decision cost us.

I still remember when we beat Direby and the table flashed up and we were 3rd, just 4 points behind second (although they had a game in hand). Garry should have been allowed to loan who he felt we needed (not Barrow and Ped FFS). For too long the owners have held us back simply by taking out more than what they put in and using the club as a source of income

Newcastle, Brighton, and now Huddersfield!..

Well done and congrats to all three!.

Boy that'll "P" the big club little club people off!..

Its a simple fact we wouldn't go up these last number off years, Bates didn't want it, he made sure he stuck this club in the sort off crap he wanted to see us in before leaving, Ridsdale brought us to our knees but Bates made sure it'd take a lot off strength to crawl out of the crap he threw us in!..

Gfh, Bates kept at the club, must have really crapped his dream up when they got shut of him, a shame, why couldn't they get shut off themselves at the same time?..

Cellino, 25%, nice one!.

That was a hole that couldn't be blocked, but even if it could, Cellino wouldn't have done much better than he did, he was to much off a do it my way bod and with the wrong people in the background it had no chance off working!..

His Sons are idiots as well!..

All in all nobody the last number of years wanted this club to go up, Bates took what he wanted even though he said he didn't!..

Cellino was just a cracker that held us back!..

Udders got what they worked for and deserved.

We got what we deserved. ( The regime not the fans)

If only we had had a Shelvey or a Mooy . - If only.

To put it into context for Leeds fans here, instead of having the Udders lot here giving us grief, we can expect the Millwoers instead!

Enjoy your Prem experience!
