Ilkley, Harrogate, outskirts of York

Some great places to live and loads of little town/villages on edge of Leeds

Try Norwood Green (in between Halifax & Bradford). Countryside & woodlands all around plus conveniently located for shops. Houses not for sale often, but a fab place to live.

Home to Elland road is 30 mins each way, often less, whether for footy or work.

It's ideal ..... 👍🏽

Knaresbrough is a really nice place. I quite like Methley near me. Some nice little medieval villages like Towton, Saxton, Church Fenton etc.

Haworth, Hebden Bridge further afield.

Central Leeds Chappel Allerton if you like a lot of pubs, restaurants etc

Knaresborough is lovely

Agree with VOF about between Bradford and Halifax

Everyone associates Bradford with been full of Asians and been ruined and to a degree it has but there some lovely places and value for money

As someone who came back from travelling and decided to return to my roots I moved to Chapel Allerton and we loved it but the jobs prospects were terrible compared to down south so we moved back down to Brighton.

Chapel Allerton is cheap and excellent, Harrogate is pricey but stunning.

Don't be drawn in by Ripon as it has become a ghost town since the Uni closed and Army Barracks is closing.

Weatherby is decent as is Otley

Just a side note on Knaresborough though- the houses by the river are nice but don't go far away from there as it isn't very pretty and rough night life

Grew up in Bramhope and lived there for 10 years, now nearer Harrogate in a Village, both very nice places with country side on your doorstep.

There's loads of amazing places in Yorkshire, take your pick! Harrogate is well expensive though.

On a side note, Thirsk or surrounding Villages the house prices are very decent for nice areas and you're onto the A1 an hour from the ground.

Yeah good point if you wanted a bit left field and love beer then move to Masham- Home of Theaksons and Black Sheep Beer plus amazing country side.

If your not a fan of farmers however don't bother as it is full of them

Don't know, I've always fancied having a go at a farmers daughter

If I ever manage to get back, somewhere north of Leeds towards Harrogate, Wetherby or York for me or even into the Dales.

The daughters are more manly than the farmers 😂 You will be prime meat to them

Cheers for all the suggestions chaps.
Keep them coming - got a few weeks off soon, so will have plenty of time for research.
Never met a farmer's daughter - and after Scribe's comment not sure that I want to

Hi Pags, think it would be a hefty price 😀
Out of interest and a female perspective where would you choose?

Depends on money and what you are wanting really.

We wanted easy access to Leeds and Wakefield via public transport so chose Lofthouse. But if money and public transport were not an issue, I personally would love to live in Ilkley I think. Its just beautiful up there but not cheap.
