I think that the issues with Torres are complicated and both Torres and the team are to blame.
It´s not made easier with the fact that the media are on a crusade against Torres.
Torres is suffering a crisis of confidence and as a human being with feelings it can´t be made any easier with the media taking such delight in analysing and criticising his every move.
I´ve said it before and I´ll keep saying it: If Torres is played with Sturridge and Mata either side he will score goals.
Until Torres is given a fair crack at the whip playing alongside Mata and Sturridge I will reserve judgement although there is no getting away from the fact that Torres has up until now been awful this year.
hmmm I dont appreciate that word , however since we both agree I see no reason to remove your comment.
anyway U9741 , physiologically torres is not right and I really feel sorry for him. From everything coming out of the press today I worry for him and his future at chelsea.
Agree Superbfrank
The situation is complicated , may posters on here do not realise the growing problem at chelsea which has had an adverse effect on all of our strikers. The media have even convinced some chelsea fans into calling for torres to be axed from the squad which I find funny.
Boas dropped him Saturday. He should know better than you or me
ChameleonProject
This article does not question why Boas dropped him on Saturday , nor does it critisize AVB decision to drop Torres. So please relate any comments to the actual article.
AVB watches these players 5 days a week for hours every day, not just 90 mins a week like us.
He knows who is playing well, looking sharp and on Saturday decided on Anelka and we got 3 points.
I wanted to see a front 3 of Mata, Torres and Sturridge myself but I think we should trust the manager.
Be interesting to see who starts tomorrow, have a suspicion he will start Drogba on Sunday if fit.
It is exactly posters like Chamelonproject which I disagree with.
Here you have an article which has nothing do with the game on saturday , does not mention AVB at all and yet chameleon comes up with a one line reply in relation to AVB knowing better.
Ofcourse he knows better he is the Coach and Im 100% behind in , In AVB we trust , but please if you cannot understand the article don't comment
Got a horrid feeling he's gonna put Kalou in to start tomorrow...
So please relate any comments to the actual article.
You mean agree with your view, and everyone else knows nothing about football, even Boas. Good luck with that. You say Torres hasn't had 1 on 1's with keepers. That's not true
White wall please tell me , where in the article do I question avb decision to play anelka instead of torres.
Its a known fact that our strike force have been abysmal for many months

Everyone is actually entitled to their own opinion and I respect that. However its different when someone comments trying to put words into your article which were never there. Where does it say torres has never had 1 on 1 with keeper ? haha tap-ins to score are not the same as 1 on 1 and that was merely in relation to aguero's start
blue revolution (U9590)
Its not all about you, this is a forum to discuss Chelsea.
Your article is about torres and mentions our other strikers (thank god you didnt mention Kalou)
I have not said you questioned AVB decision just voicing my opinion
It is exactly posters like Chamelonproject which I disagree with.
Yes disagree when you put false words into my article , perhaps disagree is not the right word but anyway like I said I respect your opinion
White hall please ! no your right this forum is to discuss chelsea so feel free to discuss
Aguero chance ????? Wasn't he 1 on 1 ?
Torres offers zero to the team right now if he can't score. His general all round play is below par. Get used to him on the bench, cause i can't see it changing
very well said. Torres is in poor form at the moment but Drogba isn't playing well either. I think Torres was dropped because of his recent interview, not that AVB has lost faith in him. I hope AVB starts Torres alongside Mata in our CL game tomorrow. If he still doesn't improve then I will stop defending him.
I thinkso too , this Torres interview seems to have gathered some storm , on SSN and it could lead to a fine for torres which would just make things worse for him.
Until the investigation is over it looks unlikely that he will play tuesday
(thank god you didnt mention Kalou)
I think I mention him once - but I got away with it
Basil Fawltyesque
For every 'narrow minded' post criticising Torres there is another blaming the rest of the team on his failings. Yes the team need to take some blame but Torres himself deserves a much higher proportion of it for his own inept performances.
If Torres turned up every week and played the way he did against Stoke, I would understand blaming everyone else, but the fact is that Torres has been shockingly bad. Always takes one touch too many, has the most unsuccessful dribble attempts in the league (when I say dribble attempt, it must count when he puts down his head and runs straight into an opponent) and he gives up on making runs behind after the ball doesnt arrive at him once or twice.
What he needs to do is stick to the task, yes we don't play him in enough, but that is no excuse to go wandering and trying to take players on, he doesn't have the attributes for this. Defenders of him say he has to come deep to look for the ball but this is wrong. If Torres stuck to his task and kept making runs he would receive no criticism from me, he doesn't tho, he goes hiding.
When he does get the ball his decision making has become embarrassing, a good example being when we had 3 on 2 against Sunderland on saturday and Torres inexplicabley top pokes the ball straight out the park.
I like the article and enjoyed reading it, I do feel that you are being slightly over defensive of Torres (not anywhere near as bad as most people here). He has had numerous one on one chances and fluffed them, and to say Aguero got a tap in, yes he did, but he has also scored some fantastic goals already, accelerating passed defenders and finishing well.
overall, nice article, good work, but I mostly disagree.
Does this opinion make me narrow minded?
The person who is most aware of his shortcomings is Torres himself...
If he gets the nod tomorrow - I would suggest he grabs the opportunity & proves everyone wrong...
I'll be first to if he does
I have not been bashing Torres but bashing the people who keep looking for new excuses for his failure to perform.
Whatever the shortcomings maybe with our midfield it is obvious Torres has lot some pace and confidence and the fact is he offers little else as a player which means the club were mad to buy him for 50m.
He looked promising against Stoke but since then woeful, time is running out for the guy.
Does this opinion make me narrow minded?
