He took over the club by paying £1. The rest, as Donald said, was window dressing. After paying the £1, what he did with the club was down to him.

That is not strictly true

Not strictly untrue either.

Problem with juries is that most folk working in highly educated professions (education, medicine, legal) try immediately to get out of jury service, so you often end up with a bunch of numpties on there who really don't have sufficient grasp of the law or have the analytical skills to muddle through all the chat from the likes of Mr Findlay.

Must have been some amount of Jeremy Kyle watchers in that jury
Questioning the intelligence and integrity of a jury now

Anecdotal though it is, my cousin (now a lawyer) was a law student and sat on a jury over the summer. Guy was glassed during a fight, CCTV witnesses police statements etc all there. Open and shut case. Get into jury room "aww pet they wur just a coupla pals having a wee argument, cannae send sumwun tae ra jail fur that". Found not guilty.
It's the pragmatic solution having members of the public on juries, but it has clear flaws. And I'm a Celtic fan btw!

Doesn't surprise me. I was the victim of a very serious offence years ago and the cops had all the evidence you could ask for, forensic, witnesses. But the jury found the guy not guilty . It's a flawed system a lot of the time
