Vof popey thinks thats where this disagreement started possibly with Rad.
Monk feels as though he doesnt have to prove himself again, rad wanted an explanation as to why we completely fell apart.

Yep ........... and dare I say a bit full of himself in the way he speaks.
It reads as all about what he wanted, his demands, his requirements, his satisfaction. He's entitled to that, he's in demand. But really? In all honesty what has he achieved so far in his managerial career? He's no Van Gaal, Ferguson or Wenger - he's not really achieved anything of real note yet.
He did well for us, but the side dipped alarmingly when the going got tough towards the business end of the season. There seemed to be issues behind the scenes with some players, players were frozen out from the get go. This will sound like sour grapes, i wanted him to stay (more for continuity as much as anything), but I'm not devastated he's gone either. He still had much to prove.

Thing is though managers / players cannot be seen as shrinking violets in this profession. Then there are the chairman who want leaders but not leaders.
Monk has seen AR up close for 6 months or more. Clearly didn't feel that the proposition was compelling enough when only offered the cheapest option to continue.
Don't know why people are pillorying him over making history, no doubt he would have liked to do that at Leeds but if he felt it wasn't actually going to be possible why set yourself up for failure?
AR offered him a fair option (1 year extension with a review - i suspect based on performance of the team) ........
You'd have slaughtered AR had he given GM a 3 year contract and our end of season form continued into next.
There are two scenarios:
a) Monk didn't feel he needed to prove himself any more and wanted a longer contract pronto + wasn't impressed with Director of Football set up while Radz disagreed based on the failure of getting into play-offs and the dip in form. This is disappointing but fine!
b) Monk didn't think there was enough commitment to player recruitment/money available and felt he was better jumping ship before it sank this coming season. This would be hugely worrying!
If Monk has seen something worrying regarding the finances/transfer kitty rather than his own personal contract stability/wage structure, I'd be alarmed.
Its as simple as two sides sat and talked but one or both didn't like what was put on the table!..
At least the way its gone, AR can bring in his own and win or lose with whoever that will be, his club, his choice, and the future is waiting for us to decide!..
Good luck AR, the ball is well and truly in your court!..
And yes, like with Bates-Gfh-and Cellino I'll await the outcome!..
I see it as the chairman wants to bring his own players in using his own recruitment policies - scouts, director of football etc
Monk would rather sign the players he wants and will get the chance to at Boro
Can't believe everyone is still going on about it. Wasn't bothered really myself, but I think we really need to get our new manager sorted to stop all this from the fans. Getting embarassing.
My take on matters was that Monk was on his way irrespective of what contract was being offered. The new structure was unlikely to suit and made his decision more easy to take.
Not sure we can level blame at AR's door and I'd rather wait and get it right than appoint in haste and then regret it. I'd like to see someone with experience of this league and someone who can work with a tight budget.

A fair option? may be to you BUT not to GM or any other person in his position
Does anyone else the manager should be the one picking which players he wants to buys
Yes of course he should but don't always work that way, oh we have been here before move on.
I hear Quique Sanchez Flores is gonna be our next manager.........................

In the case of McDermott , no.
What about any manager stevie
Or would you have a director of football
I don't hold with this DOF nonsense but I'm not putting the money into the club so I don't get to choose....
Monk apparently had a say in the signings he made but as you yourself pointed out some did well, quite a few didn't.
There are a few managers I'd trust but a) they aren't available and b) unlikely to come to Leeds.
I'd like a young(ish) head coach in who realises the need for help in the transfer market. Key to that is a good DOF and an even better scouting network.
I'd go along with that
As long as manager has finally say on first team signings
If I called the shots but had to run with this continental set-up, yes you'd be right. DOF and scouts should present options to the manager/coach.
Sanchez flores had to make do with the club bringing in udinese and Grenada players whilst at Watford so.....
Would make sense
Can someone explain how come if Monk had a say on transfers how come AR thanked Cellino on players coming in and said they had nothing to do with Monk?..
Cellino earmarked Grimes? Bartley? I suspect he rubber stamped them....
Monk deffo signed grimes Bartley and barrow
Sacko and the likes, doubtful
Deffo okane
I'd suspect ayling as well
