Does anyone know how much Barkley is on at Everton? Got a feeling it might be their highest paid player, maybe along with Lukaku. He must be on near or over £100,000. If that is the case, he might turn us down as we won't offer more than they will. If Arsenal do come in, as has been rumoured, they'll blow us out of the water wage-wise. The only way this works is if no one else is in for him. Pretty sure United will be sniffing to. He might be too established for Levy's tastes. He likes them young, naive and with zero idea of their true worth.
We will not push on without breaking our wage structure. Simple as that.
The rumours for the Everton contract he's doesn't want to sign is for 100k.
Personally think he wants a fresh move away and prob would accept less to come to us unless of course if there's other teams involved then maybe not.
Reckon we'd other around 75k

That's the problem! If he's 23 and moving on to bigger and better things, it stands to reason that the contract offered should be an increase to account for the stepping up in class, but it won't be. We'd have to, at the very least, match Everton's offer. That could upset a few in the Spurs camp that are looking better deals.
I can honestly see this going the same way as Willian. All the rumours are about us and Arsenal but all the time Ozil and Sanchez stay there, he won't be on their radar. This will be a clear run for Spurs until the final day of the window, then Jose will take a punt just to spite us and stick him of the bench for 4 years. I'll be gobsmacked if we have a clear run at this. He's too good for the bigger clubs not to want a crack. If anything, I think United need someone like him more than we do.
Also, realistically, does he play? He won't get ahead of Alli or Eriksen and he's not defensive minded enough to usurp Dembele or Wanyama.
He's a fantastic talent but I'm wondering where he gets in. We can't buy him and bench him.
Squad game mate. Like I put Sissoko and probably Nkoudou are gone with Lamela out for well who knows.
Dele banned in Europe and Son although should be back got his arm injured.
We go again with a great X1 with rubbish back ups.
As for th contract that comes down to him as he clearly imo doesn't want to stay at Everton so makes thier contract a moot point.
If he wants to come then he'll negotiate to a level we want if not he doesn't come.
Just been on Twitter, Chelsea are also rumoured to be in for him. Game over!

Not sure on Barkley but if it's who poch wants then go for him
I think Barkley is alright, no more no less. Don't see him having the potential to be world class as he'd have to develop a lot (particularly his decision-making) very quickly. Thought he had that potential in 13/14 but he's not kicked on.
I think Barkley would be a superb signing. Pochettino could turn this guy into an absolute animal. He's got so much talent and he's been playing for a s*** Everton side for years now sorry. I think he's on his way regardless wether it's Chelsea or Spurs.
There was talk of extending Lamela's contract in October 2016 before the extent of his injury became clear. However from what I can see he did not extend his contract so as it stands he is contracted until summer 2018, but there is an option in the contract for us to extend it by two years.
Do we get him fit, extend the contract and then keep him long enough to either have him back as a regular or get a good price. Or do we say 'enough is enough' and just cut our losses and let his contract run out in 2018?
