Don't think we have seen the best of him for various reasons, unfit or injured so I myself would stick with him.
BUT anything can happen when Top Cat takes a look at what we have in the squad.
I agree keep it sunny. He is a nice guy to have around the squad.
Also we have big Dave & Murphy to come back in. TC may take a liking to um if they show the want.
wins lots of tackles to be fair to him, not captain material IMO.
can pretty much only pass backwards and sideways
generally struggles to advance with the ball up the pitch
seems to be one of those CMs that has decided, he can make a living, by doing about 2 out of 10 things on a CMs list of ''things to do''
I want tough tackling, energetic, forward thinking CMs like Rudy Austin who can also shoot and give us goals.
o'kane was alright end of season when leash was taken off, even big dave got some goals from CM in a few games. you cant see bridcutt ever scoring
There are so many reasons as to why newish players / signings do not perform to the best of their abillity stright off. Some need time to settle to surroundings, some need love, some need to understand what is rquired playing for LUFC, some need stabillity for their family etc......
Depends on system, as the ONLY defensive mid, yes with 2 forward thinking mids in front.
Bloody hell. I should have put keep vote 5 sell vote 4 too late now
He has been a Leeds player for a year and a half now, right? Would hardly call him a new player. He doesn't have enough to his game to be captain and get a starting place imo.
The problem is....Vieira is better than him, I say sell and free up some wages. We need a creative box to box rather than a poorer Vieira.
Bridcutt out, Howson in. All day long.
The big argument for bridcutt is that he provides consistency next season. He has been there done it last season when we were in the playoffs for so long. That experience might be valuable.
My understanding is he wasn't fully fit and was played too soon and too much last season out of necessity.
He is what he is, a heel-snapping terrier defensive midfielder. It's a position everyone thinks any guy can play in... but actually they can't. He has really good close control and first touch and reads the game well. If monk wants him, there's probably a reason.
His achilles heel is his passing... he was good enough to be brighton's player of the season before he went to sunderland, where he frankly wasn't good enough for the prem. It all depends on the formation and how we play, but i'd keep him. If we're looking at bridcutt v viera as like for like and only playing one? I'd like that competition... viera will be a better player than bridcutt, he's a better athlete already, but he's just a kid, he's inconsistent. I'd also like to see viera given licence to get forward, as i think he has it in him, so i don't see that they couldn't play together with a different approach from a different manager.
He's a keep for me, for now.

Fecking garabage
Haven't seen anything from Vieira to suggest that he would be someone I would want in an advanced position.
I mean box to box Lubo not attacking mid. Looks like he thinks about driving forward sometimes then remembers he's not supposed to.
He's a good player who was poorly managed last season ie played in fit and too deep. He has proven himself to be a good player for us. Defo needs another season. If we dominated games more instead of relying on Bridcutt to break down play for 87 minutes, he's gonna get pulled apart
When has he proven himself to be a good player for us? All he proved in his first time after signing for us is that Diagouraga is a better player, and all he has proved this season is that Vieira is a better player.
So all he has proved is that we currently have at least two players that play his role better than he does.
still not fully over the fact we just let Rudy leave
Would happyily let Bridcutt leave

Luke murphy better?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I would say so
Luke Murphy had some really good games for us, just not enough.
Just not consistent (or confident?) enough to be part of a promotion aiming side, in my view.
I'd keep Bridcutt if part of the squad, but we need better if we have ambitions .............
Bridcutt as a squad player yes. Fans were crying out for the club to sign him. Wouldn't have been the case if he didn't make an impact.
^^^ Thing is, he helped stabilise performances when it looked like we could go down.
now we have turned it round had a positive season and want to press on to go up, is he really good enough for that?
