You're apparently not allowed to have mental health issues if you're rich.

Interesting.

The insensitivity and ignorance on this thread is astonishing. He clearly explains that he has issues of anxiety and depression. These are serious mental illnesses that too often people are expected to just 'suck it up' and get on with life. The gambling and alcohol were, as he explained, failed attempts for him to self-medicate the mental illness. The relative wealth he has compared to us is irrelevant. It simply allowed him to indulge in these false cures further and longer than most of us could. It does not mean he doesn't have a legitimate mental illness.

Depression affects anyone and everyone, Robin Williams is a big example.

Addiction, especially to psychological kicks like gambling equals feeble mindedness in my opinion, and mental illness is just medicalisation of being a nutter that wants locking away from society. Caulkers problems are nobody's fault but his own, he doesn't deserve any help or support.

Ace that's very disappointing. You have no idea what it's like, that's just sheer ignorance from you. Mental illness and addiction affects millions of people worldwide, who probably had the same opinion as you. Don't talk about something you don't understand please, it has nothing to do with having a feeble mind.

FFS curly not everyone can be on here 24/7 as we are it all on the dole like you, but here are a few quotes which show him taking the blame himself:

So then the gambling was every single day. The pain of losing all my money, combined with the shame and guilt, ate away at me

Good to see he's addressing the issue before it's too late. Get what he means by saying football is a 'gift and a curse', of course it would be great getting paids bucketloads for fulfilling your hobby, but nothing can really prepare you for how the money and fame (not immense fame for him but he'd still get recognised fairly often I'd imagine) will affect you.

Wow you are now bragging over the internet how much money you earn proper wound up

He didn't say in exact words that it wasn't his fault (which you seem to think he did), he didn't say in exact words it was. He frequently implied of the idiocy of his actions which is obviously self criticism, not hard to understand.

Also the Scottish stuff wasn't serious, I assumed you knew where I was from, or could at least work it out based on my username it isn't hard.

Ace - you, sir, are a moron

Ace is playing up to his persona - bad taste. I do recall Ace being very empathetic of addiction and mental illness from previous posts of his.

Curly continues to miss the point, on more than one topic. What a sad individual, probably gets his kicks marching in orange every weekend.
