He is not far off 23 now and has been a footballing nomad with various loan deals.
Time to really try and seal a first team role, which looks unlikely at Chelsea.

Loftus-Cheek next?

It's a shame. He and RLC look real prospects.

Watford have a bargain there I think

Good deal for Watford and if you put a buy back in and or a sell on clause, you'll be good!

1 year left in his contract, wanted assurance of playing time which Conte couldn't give.

Hope Chelsea have included a buy back clause, if the sell him cheap.

We'll take christensen off your hands pal

I'm sure a lot of the Chelsea u21 could be picked off by clubs after a few leaving!

There is only so much Chalobah can develop coming off the bench, or playing the odd game tbf. If he has a chance of forcing his way into our team, it will be by playing regularly for someone else.

Sad but true.

Can't say I'm at all happy about this. £5 million for a player with a 100 England caps though the various age groups seems like a steal for Watford if this happens.

It's a shame as he could have been a long term squad player in the mould of O Shea at United, but if he wants more then good luck to him.

Disappointed more at the fee, I think he's our most promising youngster

The others are pretty average...

Why Ola Aina hasn't been loaned or sold is beyond me

In all honesty, I stopped caring when Ake was sold.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Chistensen next on list.

It's quite funny though as you'd expect the club to have a bit more foresight considering the fact that we're currently tabling a £60m+ bid for a former "youth" player (Lukaku).

I think that the players want regular football , they can't get assurances so they've opted for moves.

Id bet my house these players have sell on / buy back clauses .

I certainly dont believe the club are just acting without a strategy.

Apparently there will be no buy back clause

@chelseayouth

Couple more bits re Chalobah/Watford: £5m-ish set to be the fee, no add-ons and, though it could still happen, buy-back clause unlikely.

So fellas, rumoured be looking to loan one of your youth strikers?

Ike Ugbo the likely one I assume if the rumour is true? Any good?

posted on 5/7/17

He has never been on loan before, he was part of the fa youth cup win last year. Scored 11 in 18 appearances last season. Only started playing as a forward in 2015-16 season. He is a very good prospect

Ah come on , the papers can't be trusted FACT, I'm agreed he's possibly going to be sold , but as to the details i don't for one second believe are common knowledge.

It will be sad if he goes. Don't care if it's over sentimentality, there's a certain feel good factor that comes with academy players coming through, or at least used to be with us but these days a feeling of inevitability that they won't make it here. With Chalobah he's been on the names of our fans for the last 7 years since he was 15, and been with the club since he was 8, shame if he goes after coming so close to breaking through last season (breaking through as in becoming trusted squad member).

I honestly think a more smart loan/a bit more luck after his Watford loan 4 years ago and he's a first XI player for us and England international.
