Everton are attempting to strengthen all over the pitch so I think they could do better than last season even without Lukaku. LFC's top league scorer was 13 I think and we outscored most.

Gylfi would be a shrewd signing to replace Barkley and they've also bought Klaassen who if he gets half the numbers from last season will be doing well. The young striker looks to have a bit about him on the very little I've seen, Keane is an upgrade and I don't know loads about keepers but Pickford is doubtless better than Robles who was mince.

Need a rb and rw though. I don't rate Bolasie but maybe Lennon is past his troubles.

Bolasie is fecking useless. What worries me is the lack of pace in the team.

That's what seems to worry most fans about their respective teams.

I put it down to them watching highlights of other teams' games, seeing breakaway chances and goals and positing that everyone else has quicker players than their club, when really what they mean is, "I want my team to play football at breakneck pace for 90 mins to keep me fully engaged."

Good luck to your £40m replacement striker aiming for 90ish goals in 150ish games for you.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Harry Kane - 78 PL goals in 105 games, transfer fee = £0
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Trophies won? Big fat Zero. Meanwhile a very poor Utd have won 3 in last 15 months.

Kane needs to leave Spurs before he becomes the next Shearer.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A PL winner?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah that was before his career suicide move to the barcodes though.

Kane won't win a league title at Spurs. Would be a travesty for him and Dele Ali to not win a title. Can't see either still being there in 2-3 years though. They will get itchy feet eventually.

..............

Especially when they go on England duty and Rashers and Lingard show them all the medals they have.

Lukaku 56 games against last seasons top 6 over a six year period... 19 goals.

21 of his 25 all against the bottom 13 clubs.

Flat track bully... Rubbing my hands at £90m to be reinvested

Flat track bully..

...............

Had we have had a flat track bully last season we would have challenged Chelsea for the title.

It was exactly what we were missing.

you think 1 in 3 against the top 6 constitutes a flat track bully?

by that definition all of sanchez, costa, and zlatan were flat track bullies last year, as was suarez during his time in the PL.

How is 19 goals in 56 games against top six sides a poor return?

When you have mourinho as your manager is always going to be dull 1-0 games. Only difference with everton playing the bottom 13 and united playing the bottom 13 is that against united they set out to park the bus.

Lukaku is absolutely useless in tight areas, he's better getting it into feet on the counter. His back to goal... Garbage. I'm interested to see if he's good enough to make it at a big big club though. Personally I think he needed another year maybe two before he went to a united or Chelsea

Really good statistical piece on him. Lost possession 548 times. 4 goals in his last 33 appearances against the top 6. And only Joel Robles had a worse passing accuracy than lukaku of 65%

he scored 4 goals against the top 6 in 11 games last season, so not sure i believe that particular stat. and squawka has his passing accuracy at 66%, vs eg kane at 72%, or costa at 75%, worse, but hardly shockingly so.

I'm not going to criticise Lukaku, he has his limitations but he's brilliant at what he does. What is strange is that even tho he's been Everton's best striker since the 80's, hardly any of us are arsssed that he's leaving. For some reason we haven't taken to him

Who will Koeman bring in for 45mil or less that will be as prolific against the smaller sides?

Abe Lackman.......Have you ever said anything positive in any of your contributions to 606?When i say positive,i mean anything of substantive comment which adds to the definition of Football in a meaningful manner instead of the mindless drivel as illustrated in your comment above.

Ever thought that his record against the top 6 might be poor as he's been playing in a poor Everton team?

He'd probably do okay in any of the top 4 teams now? He was a baby when at Chelsea really so it's hard to judge him then. He also wasn't first choice.

He's not that great and we want £90m doesn't quite add up. I think you protest too much.

Lukaku has improved so much since not only his initial loan but more since we signed him permanently.

His first touch has improved, although still not great, admittedly.

I just wonder how he'd fair under Mourinho, afterall, Rom improved away from him, in a team whom were not as good as Chelsea.

Time will tell.

He'll be hard to replace but we've relied on him far too much over the past few seasons, we've been lucky he's not had a serious injury!

With £75m to burn we can hopefully get in a couple of good replacements.

He can't blame his team mates for ballooning the ball over the bar from 6 yards out, I've seen him miss some sitters.

First touch isn't so important when you can bully centrebacks on the half turn.
