In fairness I think most of the top 10 clubs in Europe have had eyes on him with scouts etc. Chelsea havent plucked him from nowhere.

I'd prefer you got him though and we got Fabinho in an ideal world. However would be hilarious to gazump you twice in a few days too also so swings and roundabouts.

Matic and Eric Dier are too over priced even for us crazy spenders.

I don't think we are close to signing anyone, certainly not the players we think and after the last time we won the league it wouldn't surprise me if we sold more players than we bought in and signe Llorente

It's been pretty dire as of yet, not sure what we're playing at considering pre season starts Monday

I wouldn't call missing out on Lukaku a missed opportunity, I'd call it a big bullet dodged. Guy is an absolute clown.

But, if we sell Matic to united and then miss out on Bakayoko then I fear for us next season.... as at the moment it reeks of 2 years ago

Both were our targets but unattainable

Bakayako to United is fine with me though I wanted Lukaku at Chelsea.So Morata or Belotti as Chelsea player won't be bad and we won't sell Matic to Man U which is good.Matic is a good player if not spectacular but effective enough.

I don't think so. If the price is right, especially for Naingolan, I think Chelsea can get who the want. Even the likes of Marchisio, Rakitic and Matuidi would be available for wild bids

It's kind of ironic how in an era where every club has gone mental with their spending that Abramovic is the one refusing to loosen the purse strings

There are still plenty of players out there who are signable and the same level as the ones they've been priced out of/beaten to.

Nothing to worry about yet.

Whilst I don't agree that we are the best club in England, what is the citeria for such a claim.

It can't be trophies won over an unlimited time scale ?

Chelsea is defo the best club in England atm but this an change with new challenges coming in and huge investment happening elsewhere.

The gap between Chelsea and other clubs are very thin and can be easily surpassed by number of clubs...Hence the “the best claim” is irrelevant. This is what makes Prem so interesting you have number of powerhouse fighting for top place unlike other countries where the best club is obvious.
