I wasn't shooting you, Anthony. Just saying that there wasn't any chance of your scenario.
A more plausible scenario is us putting out that we are after this guy just to make Chelsea up their bid.
I probably wouldn't buy that one either, mind.

I think Chelsea could've released these fake reports of us wanting to sign him as a PR exercise, try to save a bit of face for their fans when they sign him ahead of us.

I think this also
NZonzi does what Bakayoko does but better.
Mendy gets a lot of mentions, I think Sidibe looks like Monacos best defender.
Him, Silva and mbappe stool out for me.
Didn't rate Fabinho or Bak in the CL.

While you're here, what are your thoughts on Ruben Neves moving to Wolves?
I'm still trying to wrap my head around it fully.
I'd say I got into double figures of Monaco games watched last season between their CL knockout games, their game at Wembley against Spurs and their bigger Ligue 1 games and in pretty much every game I watched, Bakayoko was one of Monaco's least impressive players and that can't just be a coincidence. I just don't get the fuss over this guy.
Fabinho was by far and away their best central midfielder whenever I watched them. I think he's better in almost every facet of the game than Bakayoko and we really ought to be looking for a defensive minded midfielder who can use the ball well and Fabinho can by spreading it wide and playing through the lines.
Hopefully this is nonsense. Not a fan.
@JimWhite
Midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko of @AS_Monaco to have medical @ChelseaFC - player close to signing, deal could be worth between £35-£40m.
Be right Jim, be right.
Think we'll still go for Fabinho?
I'm not confident we will but fingers crossed. I'm hoping he is on a list of targets and eventually we'll be forced into going for him if Matic is off the table and we don't pay what Spurs want for Dier.
AS in Spain reporting Atletico have reached an agreement with Monaco for Fabinho for €45 million.

AS also reported that we had agreed a fee with Rodriguez.
I don't think we are in for him though which is so frustrating. I have a horrible feeling Matic is preferred option followed by Dier. Both of which I'd be gutted with
