What would be a good season?

Difficult to say this early.

This time last year Man U and Man C were hot favourites, due to the managers they appointed and the money they spent on new players.

Can see the same thing already this year.

Always harder as champions, we saw towards the end of last year teams combating our formation, so I hope Conte has something up his sleeve.

WW is correct that it's impossible to say before all transfer business is concluded.

What I would say is that I hope some people are starting to realise that we are in an extremely competitive PL era when a lot of clubs have a lot of money to throw around...as a United fan constantly being told that "if jose doesn't do x it's a failure" i would say that, if we were to finish 3rd next season, behind chelsea and city, i wouldn't be curling up in a ball of shame.

equally, if chelsea were to finish 3rd behind the 2 manc clubs, conte's head would still be safe.

you'd expect to get out of the CL group, and maybe go further depending on the draw.

I do think there are more pressing areas. If the club/Conte don’t think Bats’ is ready to take on the role of main striker/fwd, then that’s an area they need to attend with what I consider to be some urgency.

But I also think Moses does need to have serious competition for his position. I don’t mean I think he was overrated last season, I just don’t know if I’m confident in him repeating that.

I am very happy with the Rudiger signing. Hope it does not mean we’re selling/loaning any of our other CBs, with Hector/Miazaga being the exceptions.

If we got a RWB, a Forward/Striker and then just added a bit of depth, I don’t think we’ll repeat the decline we had after our last title win.

I always want to win the league. As I did even under Porterfield. But again if I was told here and now, we’d get 3rd place, CL Semi and one of the domestic cups next season without spending 150m+ and utilising some of our options we already have, again as negative as it sounds I’d take that here and now.
