OP you are being extremely naive. What do you expect him to say when he wants to get the best price for his player? "Oh we can't keep Sanchez because he wants to leave but we want a decent price for him?" Yeah like that is going to convince potential suitors to dig even deeper into their pockets. His best poker move is to play hard to get... to raise the value of his asset.
What is most shocking is how we continue to run down our best players contracts on purpose so that we can sell them for profit, very very sad indeed.
Liverpool, Spurs and Chelsea even United never ever have same problems as we do, sick.
To have a players contract run down once or twice is a mistake but to have it happen over and over again just shows what a shambles this club really is.
Do you lot not reckon arsenal tried to get him on a new contract last year, but he didn't want to sign?
It's not that the club lets top players' contracts run down through negligence. The fact it happens seemingly so often, despite the club's best efforts, is actually a sign that they can't satisfy star players' ambitions. This isn't a question of better contract negotiations but of better performance on the pitch.

Are you implying that Liverpool are or have been successful than Arsenal in past 7 years to enable them to tie down their star players like Coutinho for longer contracts? It doesn't wash
It's not reckless it's lack of knowhow, maybe we need to replace Gazidis, he can't convince even average Ox to sign let alone the Ozil's and Sanchez, we're mess from top to bottom.
Even Tottenham are run like pro, Kane, Alli all tied down for eternity, we can't even tie down a dead corpse if we tried...,
We can't shift the deadwoods because apparently no other teams can afford their wages, ffs we need to sack, terminate, sack, everyone one on board for treason, end of rant.

If a player was at a club where he was being paid what he felt he was worth, and where his career ambitions were being satisfied, then he'd sign a contract regardless of whether it had 3 years or 6 months left to run.

We can't shift our deadwoods because we over pay them and we deliberately under pay our star players, sounds perfect Arsenal under Wenger, no wonder we can't compete for titles.
140k per week for Walcott says it all especially when players like Kane are on way less.
looks like Wenger is trying to get the best price for Sanchez
Yes he is our best player but I think he is disliked by the majority of the squad with Ozil being is only really allie.
Maybe there will be more harmony amongst the team.
While on tour Walcott said this is the closest Arsenal squad he has been involved in for a long time
Pretty sure Walcott says that every year.
