From someone whose watched his team in the cl near enough every year the last 20 years, champions league group games are nowhere near the highest level.

If we qualify for group stages again this year, which is another £25m+, I can see us accepting that sort of money and using a share of it for a quality replacement.

I've not heard MD say anything about where he wants to play next?

Might not fancy going back to France

Except Celtic fans never thought he was worth £40m nor have Celtic asked one club for £20m.

Apart from that it's a cool story bro but in any event he'll end up at a far bigger club than Everton.

Aye those games against Hull, West Brom, Middlesbrough are of unbeatable quality

The EPL doesn't contain much quality, only the top 4 or 5 teams and the games they play aginast each other are often 1-1 snoozefests.

As for the Europa knockout/latter stages.. I forgot how mind blowing the quality of Genk, Anderlecht, Copenhagen etc was.

As for international tournaments.. I imagine playing against the likes of Man City and Barcelona in the group stages of the CL can't compare to competing against the powerhouses of Albania and Romania in the Euros, or North Korea, Iran, and Greece in the World Cup
