to me farza have seemed v efficient with their chances this season...and the lack of control in games (compared to farza sides of the recent past) actually encourages the opposition to try and attack them more..opening up the game for messi and the others

He is a very dangerous player. Could be useful at the world cup.

This may be to do with your expectation and this not meeting reality though. Maybe you expect Barca to constantly attack and try and score 8 when they don't need to? Barca 3-0 up and out of ideas

IOAG, I don't watch them play regularly so don't know how they played in those legs. Yet they had little protection from midfield throughout, and didn't even look to counter - just tried to play possession football (unsuccessfully).

They seemed often bereft of ideas and had little structure in every passing play they attempted. If that is how they play most weeks I am surprised they have gone the league season unbeaten. I was just deeply unimpressed.

Bereft of ideas. They were also bereft of ideas when 6-1 up against PSG last season. Just didn't look like scoring at that point. After Barca went 1-0 up tonight I felt they should have tried to score again. And then again. Which they did, but it was that lack of 4th goal that made their performance woeful tonight, for me

Kinda with Edin here. Barcelona weren’t that impressive despite winning 3-0. Chelsea’s performance was hugely overrated though. They played on the front foot is all and managed to stifle Barca’s possession game in midfield, but didn’t create many good chances and ballsed up massively for the three goals they gave away. Not a good performance.

It’s because expectations of this Barca side aren’t in line with the actual level of the team that doing this is heralded as a good performance, as if it were Pep’s Barcelona that were being forced into giving the ball away.

Barca look strong defensively and clinical in attack but
The midfield and team as a whole retaining the ball under pressure doesn’t look great which could cost them in the latter stages.

Agree with your second paragraph there. Could cost them later on, but I've been thinking the same pretty muc all season up to this point and it still hasn't.

I'd also have to agree with Edin that Sevilla's win yesterday has been blown out of proportion here considering how god-awful United were (apparently, 'cos I just about tuned in in time for the last half hour).

That said, they did actually win the tie though.
