“I went for him that night in the corridors at Wembley - only Adriano Galliani, AC Milan’s chairman, stopped me,” Raiola added. “Lucky for Guardiola.
Can you imagine a fat middle aged bloke running up to him?

We’ll see how we lineup up at the world cup before drawing conclusions on Southgate preferring a system over individuals. If Dele Alli is in the team it will go against that.

Why would that be against that?

Because Dele Alli is terrible for England. We’d be putting a player before the system.
He’s been like Rooney was, playing poor and breaking down our attacks but without the goals to justify his inclusion.
I’d say he suits the system fine so it wouldn’t be putting a player before the system.
In terms of performance he is a player who has played his career under the worst England manager so I would take performances with a pinch of salt; I do remember him being very good when I saw him live at Wembley vs France and didn’t he get MotM against Germany? I don’t have too much of an issue him being dropped but he is a player in good form who fits the England set up from a tactical view point.
I don’t think he does as he continually loses the ball. And doesn’t do anything in the final third to justify his poor performances. Lingard and Lallana are better fits for the system. But Alli will start as he’s England’s golden boy along with Kane.
He’s as deserving a starting place for England as any, in fairness. If we are going to stick with the same 352 system it makes sense to keep him in there and bring in Kane for Rashford when he’s fit.
I think there's an argument to be had alli doesn't suit the way England played Netherlands, switch out Kane for lingard and rashford to the left that's a good quality counter attaching team. Not sure I want to see walker rcb as it takes away from him going forward.
Depends on the opposition. But Lingard and Sterling would work better against better sides as they help the midfield more than Rashford does. And we need help in midfield as it’s not very good. Our squad is a bit horses for courses, but it’s not something you can keep messing about with at a tournament. Hoping Lallana can get fit and on form as he’s probably our best player.
Darren I think you are mistaking performances for fitting the system. I don’t have an issue with dropping Alli for playing poorly for England but I am not convinced there is anyone’s worthy of taking his place as of yet, maybe Lingard.
Walker playing RCB means we have to play the boring and average Trippier RWB
But continually losing the ball is Alli’s style. For the midfield three he doesn’t suit that as we need a link between them and the forwards, this is an area Alli struggles. Lallana and Lingard fit that role much better.
Agree about Walker. He’s wasted at right back.
He’ll be better used from the bench I think. We should have some decent options off the bench.
I like Jamie Vardy, think he could cause problems for most teams.
