Stronger without Walker?

So by this logic should City come up against Madrid in the CL they will more than likely tear them a new one as well?

I think people are missing the point.....

Manchester United played against a European team with a weakened squad to look at youth prospects and give others a bit of match fitness.

Manchester City and Tottenham both fielded their first 11 and played the game at PL pace.

Also missing the point that most of our players only came back about 2 weeks ago after getting a extended break.

Although I agree we wasn't very good

....or perhaps you might want to learn how to read. The lad clearly said "...under LVG...".if you had checked the "fahcts", you would see he is indeed correct.

I stand corrected then, sans orthopaedic shoes.

The gulf in depth was pretty apparent when City rolled on 5 subs...shoulda just wheeled a pallet of gold bars on.

They just have amassed a frighting array of talent

If they play to their expectations City will walk the league...and pretty much all else
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The good thing is their expectations haven't been met for the last 3 seasons, and they've spent a fortune in each of those summer transfer windows.

You can't be offside from a goal kick no matter where in the pitch you stand.

Fast forward to 1:44

How far back will the defence be retreating to when faced with one of these goal kicks?

How much space will that give De Bruyne, Silva to play in..
Super offensive weapon that foot of Ederson.

I hope that Everton can replicate a Spurs season....slow start and then comfortable in top four."

Wow do spurs faeces taste good? With your tongue so far up their anal sphincter you have to know.

Everton's seasons do resemble Spurs in some ways..

Both have gone a long time since beating Liverpool.

I stopped taking any notice of friendlies the Summer of 2008 when we steamrollered all before us - with Darren Bent smashing in goals for fun - culminating in battering Roma 5-0......

......we then did not win for 8 games in the PL, losing 6.

These games are all about fitness, wiping away the cobwebs. The aim is to be strong come Spring 2018, peaking in late July

Are we to believe the best defense in England - with ot without Walker last season - have suddenly turned in to a side that will concede 2, 3, 3 as we just have?

If we have, what chance do Liverpool's Marx Brothers back 4 have?

I will take not beating you if that means finishing above you yet again.

I would take not beating any of the top 6 if it meant finishing top.

^ as that may be, I was pointing out the similarity of Everton and Spurs last few seasons.

If you feel a need to justify it, fair enough.

Funnily enough, Spurs didn't beat Liverpool even when we weren't top 6 - and those dropped points meant you didn't finish top.

Which season did not beating Liverpool cost us 1st?

Do you get bonus points for beating Liverpool because they are so wonderful?

Season 2015/2016 we weren't in the top 6, Spurs didn't beat Liverpool, and Leicester won the league.

Sure you imploded when it was mathematically impossible.. but an extra four points at the start of April cost you.

No bonus points, but seeing as your record v Liverpool is so crap, any point would be seen as bonus points for Spurs.

Markovic and Balotelli put you to the sword in one match!

That's saying something

I've only managed to catch some highlights on YouTube. Have Spurs always played that high line under Poch?
Seems it was really easy for City to run behind them

With Ederson kicking, everyone will be wary about playing a highline v City.

We also drew to Swansea, Stoke, Arsenal and Leicester, when we were leading, but yeah, it was all about Liverpool.

That is simply supposition. At best it MAY have cost us a title. Like not beating lots of other sides did.

The table says the gap was 10pts, so beating Liverpool would have only made that gap 2pts less. Beating them twice would have made it just 4pts less.

Spurs will take being beaten by Liverpool, even if it means they won't win a trophy (just like Everton)
