Rumours on Twitter (I know) is that we've accepted a bid of £37 million and he's having a medical Monday. Now I'd be surprised if he's going there as a starter, but like you say if he can recover his form when he was along side Kante they have a player.
One thing we're not short of is centre midfielders so this would not worry me. However I do believe we need 2-3 more players in other positions.
£37m for a fourth choice CM ? I have no words !!!
You've been duped by a fake account.
I wouldn't cry in to my weetabix if that happened.
If you'd told me we'd replace a hit and miss Drinkwater with a dependable Iborra and make £20m out of it, i would have said yes please.
It will clearly turn out he's injured now...
Lets hope the Iheanacho isn't too serious!!
Or Drinkwater has a mild groin strain
Shakespeare IN. We're going to win the league.
I think we're a bit quick to forget the 2015/16 Drinkwater vintage. A very good midfielder on his day and an important supplier of balls to Vardy.
We've got numbers in midfield, but have we really got quality? N'didi will be quality, but is still a youngster. I've not yet seen enough of Iborra and James has never reached the levels Drinkwater has. Then we have King who is .... well .... King and Mendy who is .... meh!
Ok £37m would be an impressive fee, but we'd then have the challenge of finding a replacement. Unlike others, I do think we'd need a replacement.
Mind you if we did get £37m I'd add in another £13m and throw it straight at Swansea for GS. I'd even throw King and Mendy in for free.

Hang on, Arro said that Drinkwater was like Hoddle in his prime.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Arro was prone to exaggeration with the exception of grossly underselling Leicester City's chances of winning the Premier League in 2015/16.
Drinkwater is a very good player in patches, but tends to alternate one good season with one bad one. Decent, but seems a strange target for Chelsea. My fear is that it would weaken us, but not strengthen Chelsea and he wouldn't get much game time. So all a bit pointless for everyone.
However, if we were to get a massive fee for him then he's more replaceable than Kante. But who and when?
One less reason for Shakey to watch his back for. Breaking up the player power part two.
He is half decent but I would rather of kept Chalobah. And saved around £20m
I was surprised to read yesterday that Chelsea apparently wanted DD as well as Kante last summer but we did not let him leave. Not sure if that is true but maybe that was the reason for his mixed season. I do rate him and will be sad if he goes - I guess it all depends on him & whether or not he wants a move.
