Rose & Our Wages

We have all known for years that the wage structure is holding us back. Nothing new here. Thats why we badly need new stadium. More income and can up the wage bill

The point is your team have been the second best for two seasons and are paying the 6th best in wages.

So they are undervalued in that sense.

Hopefully not but it feels like this summer could be the start of this team unraveling.

Yes, but despite paying 6th most in wages we are finishing second. So we must be doing something right. By that admission, when Atletico Madrid won the league, should they have started to pay their players as much as Barca or Real Madrid?

I wouldn't want to lose Rose but he would be better off concentrating on getting fit. He would also do well to remember that we won 12 of our last 13 league games without him before he shoots his mouth off.

I agree Pawl. He happily signed a contract. To put it into context, Man city pay the most in wages, when they finished 3rd did the players ask for a paycut in line with them underachieving? It's greed and nothing else

You finished second twice so quite rightly the players will be expecting money that puts them in that bracket, the problem is at the moment at least Tottenham can't afford to do that. This is where the problem lies, the players are better than their comparative wage packets against inferior players which is causing friction in the Tottenham squad.

Add to that the lack of ambition in the market showed by Tottenham this summer, it's a ticking time bomb for this squad.

Spurs need to either invest heavily or accept the reality that this squad will unfortunately be picked apart over the coming windows.

We've finished second once

What do you make of his comments on buying players you don't have to google? Bit harsh considering your successful signings have generally been lesser known players or smaller names.

Though the season you finished 3rd were undoubtedly the second best team, foot came of the gas at the end.

To be fair I had to Google Danny Rose when he first came. In fact, I used to have him on my msn messenger!

Agree with him. Sometimes you need to buy quality. Hopefully this is a kick up levy arśe

We simply cannot compete with Wages that other teams can offer.Yes we can pay them a little more but it won't be enough to keep them. This is the reality and we need to accept it for now.

If we signed a world class left back that did'nt need to be googled he would be the first to cry for first team football.

Pochettino's strengths are buying younger players with potential and developing them. From what I remember we finished second in the league and are improving every season. Where has this sudden distrust in our methods come from all of a sudden?

Difference is he is a world class LB who already has competition ( like he said in the quotes )

There's no way we'd able to get better then Rose

An even bigger concern for me is Poch.

He was happy to lose Walker (he engineered it) but I think Rose going would seriously p1ss him off.

posted on 10/8/17

The way I look at it lads , Poch knows what his doing.

If he wants to sale Rose so be it , Rose has said he dosent want out , but just feels his worth more.

Personally I would love to be off for 8 months getting 60k a week the ungrateful short arrsse, Rose can fack off he wants to I more than trust poch to do what's right.

Just let him go and move for Luke Shaw, no brainer....Worked under Poch and is young and English

Rose speaking out like he has is wrong. But what he said was bang on.

Losing Walker is going to have a massive effect on the Spurs squad, 'if he can get that move, that package, why can't I?' it's time to sht or get off the pot for Levy & Co

Do you have faith Spurs would replace him as efficiently as that?

United (according to the Guardian podcast) turned down Mourinho's request to bring in a new LB because they want him to integrate Shaw. If Rose goes for 50, you won't get Shaw for much less

This argument is nonsense. Every player is a "nobody" until a team made them.
Does that mean Mbappe shouldn't leave Monaco or Ronaldo shoudn't have left Lisbon?

You'd hope that Rose went to Poch first, then Levy then his agent contacted the club and he didn't get the response he wanted so he went to the press

Bit brainless to do this 3 days before the start of the season imo, players come and go but we go again
