Think this sums it up well...when everyone is fit we'll have a good bench. Prob do need one or two players more given champs league extra games, and we won't be as lucky as last year with next to no injuries

This article fails the "If Man Utd lost" test. If man utd lost 3-2 at home to Burnley would your opinion on their chances of winning anything change? Of course it would.

All well and good saying if this and if that - if liverpool signed Neymar, van dijk and Ronaldo, and sturridge was fit they'd be world class, but if you can't tackle within the laws of the game then you're gonna be at a disadvantage against teams that you reckon you'd beat 2 or 3 nil

We'll be much better when Hazard and Bakayoko are back.

A front three of Hazard, Morata and Willian/Pedro looks very tasty to me.

Stay calm Chelsea.....we had top players out, some dodgy reds and poor decisions by our payers diving in.

One game dudes.

I think we'll sign Barkley asap. We currently only have one midfielder available for spurs

Then i think we'll also sign Llorente and Cancelo before deadline day, and now Cahill's got a three game ban i can see us going all our for Van Djik

Last season you were lucky with injuries or lack off, now you see when you have a few and immediately are in trouble against a lower side.

Plus add to that Champions League matches

Will be a long and frustrating season for Chelsea, bookmark

Us missing 4 of our 11 regular starters isn't "if and buts" its a fact and it would hinder any team, It didnt help that we got Cahill sent off at 0-0 so early in the game which swung it in Burnleys' favour.

My point is for Chelsea fans not to think the situation is as dire as the media would have it seem, We need to read between the lines slightly.

So no dodgy reds then?

Cahill has a habit of doing this. He's clearly not learning from previous mistakes.

Long may that continue.

Not sure Cahill's tackle was a straight red, Stupid yes but it was a yellow IMO, Mark Clattenburg shares the same opinion.

Fabregas was just stupid and deserved.

Of course. The media have been looking for a crisis since we lost the Cup Final in May. It's what they do. Sadly a crazy game yesterday where we were down to nine men has given them more ammo.

I'm actually fairly confident now. Morata looked really good yesterday and we can't have players sent off every game. We'll definitely sign a couple more players before deadline day so things are looking up as far as I'm concerned.

I thought cahill's was harsh and normally wouldn't be a red in the EPL. I can see why the ref gave a red but 9 times out of 10 a yellow would be given.

Fabregas was correct decision, but his (although stupid) was a consequence of the Cahill red.

Courtouis was poor yesterday and should have saved the first goal scored by Vokes yesterday.

posted on 13/8/17

Courtois probably should've saved the first goal but it was a well taken finish from Vokes and very accurate right in the corner.

I thought Cahills was a yellow when I saw it first, but the more I see it I think a red was right.

He wasn't in control, it was a reckless lunge and his full foot planted into the players shin. If he 'was' in control, then it's even worse if he meant it.

was not in trouble due to injuries, was in trouble due to poor decisions in the game, from our players and the ref

^^ this
we almost pulled it off with 9 players (not many teams, if any, can do that in this league)

there were even worse tackles than this in that game and they didn't warrant even a yellow card

I dont think they'll win the league regardless so my opinion wouldn't change, no.

posted on 13/8/17

I dont think we'll win the league either, Nothing to do with squad depth just no team has won it back to back since Utd in 2009 but that doesn't mean we are in crisis... As long as we challenge for the title I'll be a happy bunny.
