I think people are overrating Spurs a bit. Their first eleven is weaker than it was last season as well
----------------------------------------------------------------------
i dont know how you can not rate this spurs side they are very good
We will borrow the poltergeist who kept goal in us for Munich and win 1-0.

It's not that I don't rate them, I just don't think they are that good, or we are that bad for them to beat us comfortably, as I've seen a few have said on here so far.
Our first eleven is still strong. We are struggling for depth, but Tottenham's bench ain't great either.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The thing with Spurs is not individual players but how they play collectively as a team. Our first eleven is better man for man but as a team...hmmnnn
i think mentality counts for alot as well, id be interesting to see if there is any creedence in the story of "lost dressing rooms" the spurs game will tell us that

Last season I'd say their first eleven was slightly better than ours man for man.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We have superior mentality and tactical coaching to them. Crumbling against Burnley in the first half doesn't change that.

We are missing Hazard, Cissy, Baka and possibly Pedro. Especially without Hazard we look toothless upfront.
I am with Mons on this one. Any sort of result there would be phenomenal.
I wrote this game off already. Hope I get proven wrong though

Draw would be amazing in a team without leaders.
But we are (usually) mentally toughest team in England

Very happy with his late cameo against Burnely. Also, looked sharp as well. You still don't know how he will cope against a good defence. Can't pin my hopes on Morata, I would be looking towards our experienced players Pedro if he is fit to play or Willian. Defensively we still look suspect. Hopefully Moses will bring more balance to the team.

Sad to say, but Batshuayi is nowhere near good enough. We looked an entirely different team as soon as Morata came on last week. Even a half fit Morata is a vast improvement on Batshuayi. I think the team picks itself - the only question is whether Luiz or Christensen will be defensive midfield alongside Kante. It will likely be:
Courtois
Azpi Luiz Rudiger
Moses Kante Christensen Alonso
Boga Willian
Morata
Incidentally, with Cahill missing 3 games, this could be an opportunity for Rudiger to make the position his. Do you think Cahill will get back in the team?

Batshuayi just had a bad game...that happens. Looking at the his last couple of games shows the Burnley match to be the anomaly.
That could because he doesn't have much experience playing a man down and the moment was a bit too much.
On Cahill though, he could find himself on the bench for a prolonged time if the defense settles quickly...a solid performance against Spurs and a case can be made to keep that unit together until it's not feasible.

Agreed regarding Cahill. It's a tough ask for the defenders to forge a good relationship away at Spurs of course - especially if Luiz has to be moved to midfield. But fingers crossed.
As for Batshuayi - I hate to say it, but I think his half decent performances are the anomaly. I really do not rate him so far - I hope I'm wrong, but his touch and his movement have both been poor from what I've seen.

Funny how Luiz playing in midfield is what may actually create the condition that possibly allows Cahill back in...should never be that for a starting CB of premiership winning team but here we are.
Let's see how this unfolds.

I think we'll put up a hugely better performance at $puds than that shat we produced v Burnley
MTC...not a bad shout overall...can't say we have a lot of options else anyway
I'm sort of in two minds how I'd approach this game if I were Conte. Stick with 3-4-2-1 with Luiz (or even Christensen) in midfield, or treat it as a trial run for 3-5-2 as you suggested.
Unless we play completely on the counter attack we'll probably get destroyed playing 3-5-2, puts even more importance on the role of the WB's and Spurs' wide play is too good. But it will give us the opportunity to see how Morata & Bats link up which could prove a potent weapon later in the season.
Will be very interesting to see how Spurs handle being in this position. First match at Wembley with all the question marks surrounding that and they're unanimous favorites. We'll learn more about Spurs than ourselves out of this one, pressure's entirely on them.
