Really need to have a challenge past march at least

On paper but football never works out that way. There is no way we will go undefeated this year. Nor will we get anywhere near the same points. So all it takes is for the other teams to step up and the gap is a lot closer than we would like.

When we stopped ten in a row we were apparently miles behind and had just brought in a new manager. We didn't even get off to a good start that year but eventually we closed the gap.

Can see aberdeen and rangers posing more of a challenge this year. For a start we wont get anywhere near 106 points, probably 90. So all it will take is for aberdeen to get a few more wins and it will be a tough fight.
-------------------------------------------------------------

And Celtic signed Aberdeens best player and a boy that has spent two seasons playing in Serie A.

It completely flies in the face of logic and facts to suggest anything else other than Celtic will absolute stroll the league again this year.

There is no team even remotely capable of challenging Celtic for the title right now.

To suggest anything different is complete nonsense.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thought Ryan Jack was Aberdeens best player? Being captain - sure that was the logic used by some when you signed him. So now Hayes is the better player. Good we got clarification 👍

All it takes just now is an injury to griffiths and we have no strikers. We would easily drop points under those circumstances.

5-0 lead or not, BR would be foolish not to play his first X1 on Tuesday. Would be fantastic to get a draw there and keep the unbeaten run going as long as we can. The likes of Ralston, Ajer and Miller have demonstrated that they can be trusted domestically. At Rugby Park, I would be happy with the back 4 that kept clean sheets versus Sunderland and Killie

Midfield, perhaps Stu, Cal and Hendo? Up front, maybe Benyu. Jamesie and Hayes, although I noticed that Jonny wasn't even on the bench om Wednesday night - wonder if he's injured?

That stretching it.

And it overlooks the fact you do have a £1.5m back up striker in Ciftci and an excellent young prospect or two.

And it assumes you wont sign anyone else as cover.

Long shot at best.

Wouldnt lose sleep over it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ciftci wont play for us again and the only signing that will happen is paddy roberts. Other than that we wont sign anyone.

Henderson has totally fell off the radar, not sure if he's injured or just been bombed out completely.

Well isn't Juego Mr Neggy Bear this morning

However your comment about our reserve team winning it isn't too far off.

I wouldn't say they are the reserve team but a second starting XI and yes both teams are very strong

These are just my views on strongest team when all fit

Gordon
Lustig Simunovic Boyata Tierney
Armstrong Brown Ntcham
Forrest Dembele Sinclair

deVries
Gamboa Sviatchenko Bitton Miller
McGregor Kouassi
Benyu Rogic Hayes
Griffiths

That doesn't include Ajer, Ralston, Aitchison or even Roberts if we do sign him. Ciftci doesn't get a mention

Now either XI is very interchangeable both in formation and personnel. There are many in the first Xi who could drop out and many in the second XI who would be in the first..

Don't see why we can't rest a few players over the next couple of games.

Could give Lustig a rest, even KT. If Bitton is the answer at CB at the moment, then him and Simunovic should play together as much as possible. Being said, Ajer is more than capable of stepping in and performing well.

We can have McGregor and Armstrong start in the midfield along with Brown or Ntcham behind them.

Won't be surprised to see Griffiths given a rest, so Forrest up front with Sinclair on one side and Hayes on the other? Benyu?

I think some are overly worried about the depth in our team, or don't fully trust them to get a result. I don't see why tbh.

There's no way anyone other than Celtic will win the Premiership this year. It's laughable to suggest they won't win it. If I were a bookie I wouldn't even take bets on it.

As stated, the Celtic second XI would probably win the league and pretty much all those players would get a game for every other team in the league.

That's why the real action is in the Championship, with the big game this week being the big, ahem, derby game between league leaders Dundee United and Angus, ahem, rivals, ahem, Brechin.

Guaranteed if we rest players and get beat those folk who said we should rest them will be up in arms about the defeat.

I want this run to go as long as possible and maybe get a record. We wont do that resting players.

Juego

All the excitement in the Premiership is in the same place as it's been for years - who's going to finish 2nd.

The fact you've got Aberdeen, Rangers and Hibs looking strong, with the potential for Hearts to improve (unlikely) and St Johnstone always getting the odd result, means they're all going to cut each others throats, which could end up making them finish on lower points totals than last year. Ultimately there isn't a great deal between Aberdeen, Rangers and Hibs.

Celtic will romp it. They won't get as many points as last year, but they'll still easily win the league. I'd be happy to bet they'd win it before the split.

One player who will definitely play tomorrow is Ajer - plenty of experience on that plastic pitch and Jozo won't be risked on it, rightly so

NNH - agree about Hendo being out of the picture and I have already posted on here that he will probably leave at the end of August. However, with Kouassi injured, having the midfield that I posted, with Liam in the number 10 slot (he continues to train with the first team squad), would mean we could still rest the entire midfield ahead of the Astana trip .

That said I would have the likes of Lustig, Broony, Oli and Griff on the bench just in case.....

As I said - some bears. I didn't say you, or all Rangers supporters.

And the logic used was that he was Aberdeens captain and therefore their best player
