Our pace comes from, or rather came from, the fullbacks but no rose and no walker is costing us.

A new RB and a fit Rose are needed ASAP

Also, we've played against two very well drilled, compact defensive sides. Always was going to be hard to break them down

No need to overeact to yesterday but I think we all agree we have a great 1st 11. The squad does lack a bit of variety and some pace, especially off the bench when we are chasing a game . Everything looks very similar.... Jansen's a poor version of Kane, Winks (good young player but Dembele he aint !) Son (probably sb starting in a 4-2-3-1) the rest.... KGN, Sissoko, Lamela (cant see that ever happening) do nothing for me. Put it this way.. United brought Martial of the Bench, Liverpool had Salah, & Arsenal had Giroud..... all gave their respective teams a bit of something different.. We don't have that

Remind you that Giroud came off the bench and Arsenal still lost at Stoke. Whilst I agree the bench can make a bit of difference, yesterday Chelsea had a weaker bench than Spurs, so it was not a factor in the defeat. The major problem was a goalkeeper error, lots of possession, but moving the ball to slowly, and woeful taking of set-pieces. Spurs had all the stats in their favour yesterday, and should have won that game at a canter, but they failed to really put Chelsea to the sword with their slow build up play.

Like I said yesterday, if Poch had that much faith in Janssen wouldn't he have brought him on sooner than the last couple of minutes, him being a striker and all and us needing a goal?

I mean maybe I'm reading too much into it for one game, but if he was improving as we'd hope he would in this second season, wouldn't that also show in training and give Poch more reason to want to pick him? I'm not convinced that Poch is convinced with him still.

Al fair points mate..... I'm not panicking at all but bigger picture, we need pace in the FB positions in that formation & pace/ versatility going forward if we want to have varied & balance squad that will complete on multiple fronts.....I'm hopeful, Poch is talking about 2 or 3 signings..... Given up guessing who...... We'll hammer Burnley on Sunday and we'll be off & running !!!

Whereas against Leicester Arsenal brought him on and he scored the winner, and the other sub, Ramsey, scored their third goal.

A stronger bench might have made a difference, but we'll never know after not giving ourselves the chance to know.

Nice to see you back sandy, is it a permanent return?

I wish N'Koudou was fit. He looked good pre season and does give us real pace off the bench.

Yep, I said before we sold Walker we were lacking express pace, and his sale has only diminished it further.

I can also see our right side being a problem as Trippier can not dominate his opponent like Walker could and looks exposed against quick footed and speedy attackers.
