I think spurs have got more important things to worry about,
They have to put on a League Challenge and a Champions league challenge and actually win something rather than just put the pressure on or there arguably best EVER squad of players will be dismantled when they all move onto big clubs

On slightly different tack, whilst I acknowledge that Arsenal are their bigger derby rivals, I do think games between Spurs and Chelsea are far more intense, blood and guts affairs than the recent NLDs I have watched.

Our match is their cup final mate.

Personally, I never had a problem with their club or even their fans in real life really. Some of their fans on here however ? Maybe the annonimity in this forum it seems to bring the worst out of them. Btw there are some good Spurs posters in this forum, but a few of them are very very bitter.

posted on 23/8/17

Yeah I don't mind a few of them tbh but they have some bad ones.

I've never been fussed by spurs, always played good footy and another london derby with a bit of passion. Never hated em.

Their players certainly dislike Chelsea more than they do Arsenal and have said the fixture is the first they look forward to. The fans (ja606 is not the best of measures) are still more engaged with the NLD.

Spurs fans are in a tricky situation to be fair. Owned by Arsenal for two decades: their biggest rivals.

Then, owned by the Chavvvs 87-2003, Chavvvs overtake them in late 90s and become bigger club, winning trophies, signing stars and become glamour club in London. Then we win the lottery and carry on owning them for two more decades.

And, even when they have a better side than us, like 2012. Our mental strength prevails and they bottle it every time. Boom 5-1. Three Point Wembley.

If I was a Sud, I would hate us too.

I remember how much we hated Arsenal, when we just couldn't beat them in the 90s

Chelsea have denied claims they are set to replace Antonio Conte with Thomas Tuchel.

Reports in Germany had suggested that the Blues had identified the German, out of work since leaving Borussia Dortmund at the end of last season, as the man to succeed Conte with the Italian's future still under something of a cloud.

A difficult summer including struggles in the transfer market and talk of a power struggle between him and members of the Blues hierarchy sparked suggestions the Italian could walk away after just one season.
But club sources have confirmed to The Independent that there is no succession plan in place for the Italian with Tuchel not a name on their radar.

No this rivalry goes since the 60s.

The Toytenham support loved to rub the superior feeling in over a couple of decades 60s , 70s , 80s.

Plus it was always a very dangerous place for away fans.

Todays the shoes on the other foot and they hate, Fkc em !

This.

Chelsea is the second fixture I look for but the NLD is and will always be no.1. Can't match the atmosphere before during or after that game. The Chelsea one doesn't come close.

I'd say you're right about the players - they def seem way more up for the Chelsea game and can see why.

Players are more up for the chelsea games because of what has been at stake recently, and they always give us a good game.

In the last few years, even when we draw against arsenal they never really play that well. Feel like this current group of Arsenal players really dont care about the NLD

Spurs players seem to get wound up against us that's for sure. Should have had two sent off at the weekend.

posted on 23/8/17

As a fan, I dislike Chelsea because for the past 20 odd years they've been better then us, bar the odd season, and even die hard chelsea fans have to admit that they did get alot of people hopping on the bandwagon when they became succesful.

I personally don't have a problem with chelsea being bought by a billionaire and throwing money at the game, just how it works nowadays and it clearly isnt as easy as they made it look, since there are a lot of clubs that were bought by financial moguls, only to never see any success.

Their youth policy is a joke though.

Yes, if they concentrated on football instead of kicking us they may win for once!

As a long time Spurs supporter of 60 plus years, sure the Chelsea game is a big London Derby, but it don`t come anywhere near the match with the North London Derby with Arsenal, even though Arsenal do actually come from South of the River. Just my opinion mind you.

No Chelsea fan would contest that.

NLD is much bigger game around the world.

Spurs fans care about Chelsea a bit more now because of us owning you since 87 at Three Point Lane.

Owning since 90 at the Three Point Bridge

And now owning you at Three Point Wembley

Also, the success RA has bought, and our displacement of Spurs as London's second biggest club creates further resentment

Just to add a bit of balance to the results in this fixture, and all this 3 point WHL and 3 point Wembley nonsense.

Of the 192 games played
Spurs 69 wins
Draws 46
Chelsea 77

Chelsea edge overall, but not overwhelmingly

Spurs home versus Chelsea
Spurs 37 wins
Draws 25
Chelsea 30 wins

So not really 3 point WHL as Spurs have more wins

Spurs away to Chelsea
Spurs wins 30
Draws 21
Chelsea 44

Chelsea more wins, although Spurs have won as many times at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea have at WHL, so shall we call it 3 point Bridge. Just a thought.

Wembley
Spurs 2 wins
Chelsea 3 wins

Overall, when you analyse the full picture, not that much difference in records home and away.

Long may the rivalry continue.

Yes, long may it continue.

At Wembley, it is 4 wins for Chelsea

2017 Chelsea 2 Spurs 1
2016 Chelsea 4 Spurs 2
2015 Chelsea 2 Spurs 0
2012 Chelsea 5 Spurs 1
