Why does this show his class out of interest?
Well done Rooney
Englands greatest goalscorer
All it really proves for me is that someone read him the article where Geoff Hurst says he's finished at international level and he shouldn't be picked to the side again.
He really should have quit last year, I don't know if the talk of him possibly being picked in the next squad has made him realise that it could have an impact on his club career.
Good international player in the main as far as England performances go.
Rooney showing class is a bit far fetched, the man has never had class.

Swap 'greatest' with 'highest'.
would be nice if they could finish with a world cup medal like old guys
Great record. Not a great professional.

does he still smoke

Yes he's asked Jags to pick up some duty free cigs
So he didn't get picked and he's thrown his hand in.
Can't believe you put Rooney and class in the same sentence

The Everton striker was asked by England boss Gareth Southgate to be involved against Malta and Slovakia.
"The Everton striker was asked by England boss Gareth Southgate to be involved against Malta and Slovakia."
Southgate might just as well have punched him in the face and told him to f-ck off.

I think Southgate ended up with his nose out of joint.Perhaps jack Wheelchair will be getting a call soon
Rooney, great scorer of great goals.
Good luck England, they don't make players like Rooney anymore.
Will be missed as much as Scholes was
I would say he's made a great decision. He's probably discovered a love for football again, scored a couple of goals so far and is enjoying himself and felt he'd like things to stay as they are away from all the criticism he's faced the past few seasons.
When will Tony Hibbert get this opportunity?
Oh, hang on....
That West ham troll is priceless
