Maybe inclusions for McTominay and Tuanzebe, although I think Jose will want to keep his 'main' players fresh and on their toes at this early stage of the season in case they need to come in and deputise in the League or CL.

It has backfired in recent seasons though as we drew Liverpool and City in league cup in last few years although I still managed to get a ticket for both thankfully but it was close.

Carbao cup, drawn in China, attendances appalling last night and team selections shocking. This competition won't last much longer in current format.

I have a soft spor for the league cup. Rate opportunity to see the youngsters / squad players in a comparative game.

Having won it last season we can hopefully use it purely to give minutes to lesser squad players. I don't care if we go out in the first game, whatever we do there's no need to play any of our main players.

We won't win the quadruple with that attitude

Definately a competition at the lowest of priorities this season for Mourinho and I would say most other top end PL managers to.

Often regarded as a kind of Mickey Mouse competition, even more so now that it's got a silly name.
