3 at the bac is not an experiment. As it was in the 90s, it is a short term tactic that can be successful against teams that are not set up to counter it but once teams do that it becomes a laughing stock formation. Wenger is just slow on the uptake of change. I was saying last season we should be setting up to counter it.

3 at the bac is not an experiment. As it was in the 90s, it is a short term tactic that can be successful against teams that are not set up to counter it but once teams do that it becomes a laughing stock formation. Wenger is just slow on the uptake of change. I was saying last season we should be setting up to counter it.

I wish it was just a tactic. It was falling apart in preseason and Wenger did nothing.
It was falling apart in pre season as they deluded fool was playing the likes of Elneny and Maitland Niles as CB ffs. Even when the seasons started the fool is playing LBs as CB.
I know you hate the formation but not even playing CB and WB in there correct roles surely doesn't help.
An ideal pre season for me would have seen us play Per, Kos, Mustafi as CB with Bellerin and Kalasinac as WB.

Still wouldn't work.
The base player in a 3 needs to be able to come into the midfield or you get what happened today. Liverpool outnumbered us and as a result won the ball back with no one to stop their attacker till they were into the box taking shots. Kos never stepped into that space. Luiz is great at doing that. We have no on at the club capable of that which is why Wenger experimented with elneny and maitland-niles in that role. We have been conceding a lot of clear chances with 3 at the back. Teams just haven't finished well against us. thats changed in the last two games.
Hardly any of the team look like they want to play for Wenger now. There's no effort amounst the team. So whoever we put out, I bet they'll be at least 5 players who won't bother. Look at Ozil, Ramsey, Xhaka, Sanchez, Ox, bellerin no one cared to put in a shift, just wandering around the pitch. Fecking disgraceful. How has this been allowed to develop at Arsenal!
Just need a new manager. Then we can move on. Get some fresh ideas, fresh ambition, get players who want to be here, if not then they can leave. However I do think a new manager might bring a bit more passion and desire back into the players. However a lot of this crap comes right from the top. So even with a new manager, with the owner and board how it is, it could be hard to see huge changes. But for me, nothing will progress until Wenger is gone.
i would imagine itll be hard next season for alexis to find a new team as hes gonna need extensive psychiatric help first he looks like a broken man. Almost in tears when you were 2 down and should have been 5.
