We have to be in some sort of decent position when we get a new manager, otherwise he will be in an impossible situation. Buying players is key to that.

Plus new signings are exciting, and some people don't want to live in permanent misery.

Signings won't solve the main problem. The main problem the board and Wenger, is not going to change for a long while. The only thing that might slight difference this season is signing some better players. It's Not enough to make us title winners or anything, but it'll improve some of our quality. Bit like when arshavin came in and got us top 4.

But it's true, our long term problems won't be solved. We may get some better players, but in the long run with this manager and board. It won't make a huge difference

I don't think the issue is Lemar going to Liverpool. It's yet another example of us as fans having the wool pulled over our eyes. Or the club trying to do that... an entire summer bidding for the player with no intention of signing him to give the impression that new top drawer blood is coming in. And then another club showing how it's done. THAT is the issue.

But I agree with the rest. Wenger out.

Liverpool have ordinary-decent players all over the pitch with a few top class players i.e. Mane, Lallana and maybe Coutinho. Said before the match yesterday we would make an average team look special and that's exactly what we did. It's what we always do. I don't see Liverpool doing anything of note this season but that's another discussion all together. I feel a lot of teams will be a lot more optimistic about their own teams than they should be after they play us. Look how Leicester and Stoke have faired since their decent performances against us

New signings are exciting if they are the right signings. Now you may have been excited when we spent circa £90M on Xhaka, Mustafi and Lucas last Summer but who was the miserable person who said they would all flop?

Do you trust Wenger to go and spend £90M over the next few days on the right players? Or would you rather keep that money in the bank for the right man to spend it?

You have a worse defence than us. The only quality players you have is Sanchez and Lacazette, the rest are average.Giroud is a West Brom type of player.

Your midfield is one of the worst midfields I have seen since the days you were a club like Stoke city in the 80's and 90's under Graham and the rest of average manager you had in your history.

I hope you sack Wenger. The manager who made your club challenging for trophies before your were a joke club.

Pretty much agree with the OP. Unfortunately, in addition I feel that the complete absence of any downward pressure from the ownership could make this a recurring problem down the line.
