He looks to be after a ball playing CB which isn't surprising when even the goalies playing triangles.
Too injury prone to build into the team
Too old to develop the skills Warbs wants
Too expensive to keep on the bench.
Good player at times but can see why WB doesn't fancey him, The last partnership you want to be changing due to injury is at CB imo.
I can see Warburton's thinking. He has never managed more than twenty games in a season since he joined the club. He is a great defender and is great when Forest are in a backs to the wall situation, and on his day is better than any of the others defenders at the club, but if Warburton sticks to his desire for a slimline squad, you need players who are capable of thirty plus games in a season. Hobbs apparently had a fitness test before the Leeds game but failed it. Shame as he would have made a better job than Mills of clearing the free kick that led to the first goal v Leeds for starters.
It may well be a loan with a recall clause so he could be recalled in Jan. Forest have high hopes for Ahmedhovic and Coveney who they got from Man City. Need to make room to give them space to develop. Hobbs will also benefit from the regular game time he just isn't going to get at the CG.
Spot on Will. It's a shame but it's the right decision.
Its a shame, agree with the other posters but sometimes hard decisions have to be made and Hobbs is too injury prone to be relied upon. I rate him highly and he seems like a good character to have around the place. But I do hope we get some reinforcements in before we do anything with him as defensively we're too lightweight. Mancienne, Mills and Worrell dont seem to be gelling as quickly as we'd have hoped, they seem lacking in confidence and cohesion. Back ups of Fox and the two young lads doesn't exactly inspire or reassure and frankly with all the business we've done I'm quite surprised we haven't identified or prioritized our defence as yet!!
Talk now that Osborn could be off to Leicester for £10m so might this be the catalyst to kick off 2 or 3 more signings - McGinn, Ronnow and a centre back?
I saw him play away at Rochdale in the FA cup, he was utterly hopeless that day
I haven't seen him play since
Fester link for Osborn has gone about as Drinkwater has put in a transfer request. Not believed to be anything in it but who knows. £10m would be a decent price for him but I can't see Fester paying that.
According to the Post the Osborn story is just hot air, no bid and Osborn is on holiday.
The ill feeling toward Osborn reminds me of the abuse that used to be aimed at John McGovern by Forest Fans back in the day. He was a fantastic 'one touch' footballer and he could tackle a bit too. Unfortunately he always looked clumsy on the ball and gave it away. fans never saw or remembered his part in some fantastic goals.
Osborn has always been in the team irrespective of the manager.
Osborn supplies all our energy in the centre of the park. Without him we'd be as static as we were against Leeds. Just all the time.
People probably just see he's always running so he's easy to play around or that he's not constantly pulling off killer passes or shots. And those are valid criticisms.
But the mans a one man midfield dynamo. Always open, always harassing, simple balls to effective players. If he did everything he wouldn't be playing in the championship.
Every player has his price but those celebrating that Osborn might be leaving are probably the same people who always need that 'one' player to barate.
Yes, people judge players purely on goals when there is a lot more to a successful team in reality.
Looks like Warburton is keen on McGinn from Hibs. Second bid has gone in but indications from Scotland that it isn't enough.
surley the most important thing to do now is get rid of Lica
Everything else is a bonus
Here in the City have reported that Forest have made an enquiry about Tim Krul.
Apparently Brighton are interested in krul.
Licas officially gone. Mutual termination. We probably tried to find him another club that or maybe a little fee but no one would touch him. His inflated wages probably didn't help.
Perfect example of the previous regimes poor poor transfer policy.
Yep, I bet he got a decent settlement too. Another perfect example of how to let amateurs ruin a club!
Krul is going to Brighton apparently. Hardly played since doing his cruciate in 2015 so mayb a bit of a gamble.
A third bid for the Brondby keeper is likely to fail as the player isn't keen. Robles from Everton another one linked.
Why hasn't Eric Lichaj been offered a new contract?
Has the player of the season curse struck again? or just that Warburton favours his own signings? Will Clough get a chance or will he be on a surprise loan move away from the club, especially if John McGinn signs?
Managers will always favour their own signings bear, at least in the short term.
If they were to buy a player even for a modest fee, and then not play him questions would be asked understandably, and the tap turned off.
I cant see Clough getting much of a look in either. We are overloaded with midfielders
Ward, Osborn, Cash, Vaughan, McKay, Bridcutt, Bouchalakis, Carayol, Clough.
Someone is bound to be out on loan. My guess would be Carayole and Clough, depending how soon Ward and Cash are expected to return
We either play one or up top, or a front three (which often can involve wide midfield players).
So if you look at midfield....
Ward, McKay, Carayol (wide midfielders)
Cash (injured)
Vaughan, Cohen (never play a full season)
Clough (attacking midfield)
Osborn (box to box)
Bridcutt, Bouchalakis (more defensive)
Maybe the thought is we need another option for attacking midfielder to play just off a striker
I missed out Dowell (and BB, but I consider him a CF), who would be in everyone's best 4 midfielders, along with McKay, Vaughan, and for me Osborn. Bridcutt and Bouchalakis would step in to cover injuries.
If we were to play a genuine 4-3-3 then BB and McKay would probably be alongside Murphy.
True, that's quite a few but wouldn't be surprised to see one or two go
Apparently back in for that Scottish bloke and Federici on loan, as a kind of try before you buy as he failed his medical
Would be happier to have Federici on loan. Admittedly it would suit Forest more than Bournemouth so it may be a tricky one for Warburton and McParland to sort.
Doodoo from Rangers seems pretty certain on loan. Don't know much about him but I can only guess that the Ranger's fans will be incoming imminently to tell us he is the worst human being since Vlad the Impaler, etc...
I think the intent is for us to buy if he doesn't get injured Will.
All parties agreed and he failed the medical due to his knee. This way if he does get injured, we can get the receipt out and return him.
God knows what's happening with McGinn and Dodoo. Atleast this final pages makes for good reading.
My bad, didn't read that through properly
