to be fair, 180k in London is about 120k in Liverpool, the cost of property is so much less.

Just a weird, weird signing. We already have plenty of attacking players in that area of the pitch and almost every one of them is better than Oxlade-Chamberlain. Shouldn't we spending this money on a defender???

no one wants to play for the Cont!

You're talking nonsense Metro, you can squeeze extra out of certain players but even if he can get Ox to perform 5 times better than he ever has done then he'll still be short

Buy a whole street, Fowler style, up Liverpool

As I have said many times on this forum, there is a player in there somewhere, but given the situation, I'm satisfied with the 35-40m fee.

He could be a very good player for Liverpool if he's managed correctly.

However, even though he wants to be a central midfielder, I still think the wing-back role suits him well.
He was one of our best players in that position when we switched to a 3-4-3.

I'm less certain as to how he would be as a central midfielder. He has a deceptively good passing range, but does he have the discipline, awareness and ball retention skills to be a top CM? I personally don't think so, but time will tell.

As others have said, how much game time will he actually get there competing against Henderson, Can, Wijnaldum, possibly Lallana too? And then there's Keita coming in next season as well.

Given how inconsistent he's been for Arsenal though, and the length of time left on his contract, getting anywhere between £35m-£40m for him is pretty good going. Just hope we re-invest it as soon as possible!

His price gone up from 20m to 25m upto 35m. This is too much for a player with his ability in his final year of contract. Doesn't score goals or create them. Can't tackle. But Klopp likes pacey players even if they are technically limited. Now this means we're not signing Lemar and Arsenal or Chelsea coold go for him.

We couldn't accommodate him as apparently he fancies himself as a CM

Brilliant, if I am wrong I will admit it. TAA looks very good and he had proved me wrong but he still needs to do more and for a lot lot longer.

The Ox had been around longer than Yakubu and will not improve much more, I can not recall ever being so disappointed when either a player has come or gone for that matter.

You have chosen a headline to get a load of comments when you're understanding of the game is next to nothing

They're all better than the Ox, to be fair.

Ox is an average winger but he's fast. Barkley is a number ten who could develop really well. None of them would fit into Chelsea or Liverpool teams in their favoured positions. At Spurs Barkley would be back up to Alli who is much better.

Funny though, two days ago, all Chelsea and Liverpool fans were dreading Ox - all negative. Then yesterday, half (just half) CFC fans were starting to come round to the possibility. Today, he's a messiah at Anfield.

FICKLE!!

To be fair, you can see where Llorente and Drinkwater fit into Chelsea's squad.
