They usually only do it in 10's, normally 10th and 20th anniversary.
"minute of appreciation before the match for Tupac Shakur, to mark the 15th anniversary of his untimely death?"
Why should there be?
Why should there be?

Why shouldn't there be?
He was only a rapper, he didn't exactly influence this country in any real way.
"Why shouldn't there be?"
He died. People die.
Are we supposed honour a guy who influenced, the virus we call 'rap' just before a game of football.
He might have had an impact on you. Understandable.
But not everyone cares for a moaning, thug rapper.
Such I shame I couldnt meet tupac. His gangster rap status and my general swagger would've reeled in the ladies. I guess by us not meeting, I suffered more than he did. He got the ladies while I got put on a register.....
So every rapper is a thug?

I'd rather have a minutes silence for Freddie Mercury when the anniversary of his death comes around.
"So every rapper is a thug?"
Never said such a thing.
But while we're on the subject, why not?
Yes I think majority of the rappers are thugs, former thugs, or proclaim to be one.
They are a stain on their families, friends, society, and in general the human race.
He died. People die

There were a few minutes silences on Sunday...
Were you saying the same then??
by the way, it wasn't a serious article. of course there shouldn't be a minutes silence/appreciation for 2Pac or anyone other musician/TV star etc.
And of course the tributes on Sunday were very poignant and worthwhile.
"I'd rather have a minutes silence for Freddie Mercury when the anniversary of his death comes around"
I second that. Freddy was the man but anyway I swear his anniversary was a couple of days ago. I remember the google tribute Thingy
Are you comparing Tupac to 9/11
Wasn't the Google thing for his birthday? 50th wasn't it?
Oh, that was his 65th birthday, he died 24th November 1991.
Are you comparing Tupac to 9/11

No, I am using Dubbeds statement that "people die" that was written in a manner of "get over it" in relation to the tragedy of 2001.
But that wasn't just remembering people dying, it was remembering an attack that shook the world.
tupac totally got him, we all have people we relate to and their lyrics and we are all different.

If you're article was in jest, it must have gone over my head.
Have to admit, I thought it was strange that you had posted such an article, as your opinion in football is generally reasonable.
My mistake, if that's the case.
Yes I think majority of the rappers are thugs, former thugs, or proclaim to be one.
They are a stain on their families, friends, society, and in general the human race.

Then you are ignorant. Very, Very ignorant.
Im sure the fact you think they are a stain is of distress to them whilst they have their mansions, ferrari's and bank accounts with so many 0's on the end it makes your eyes hurt.
You're still wrong however. I suggest you change your outlook on life.

Ok. Let's see here.
Which one of these two situations should I choose?
Supporting, and defending rappers with "mansions, ferrari's and bank accounts with so many 0's on the end it makes my eyes hurt", or being opposed to these awful people who corrupt children and people with their waste of time music?
In both of these situations, these rappers don't know I, you, or anyone else on this article exist. But neither do the footballers we constantly discuss.
Doesn't stop me from having an opinion on them though, does it?
Having an opinion on a footballer is one thing, judging people that you do not know. And corrupt children? What cobblers, seriously if children get influenced by music in such a way then their parents should be doing a better job bringing them up.
