Sanchez devastated, Man City furious..

Sanchez signed a 4 year deal, He signed in the summer of 2014 and will leave a free agent in the summer of 2018

posted on 1/9/17

Can't blame Sanchez, we was sold a dream that Arsenal were to compete for the PL and CL, As was their fans with the new stadium, They've never been further away from theme title and are arguably in a bigger mess than we were 2015-2016.

Not sure why Alexis would be devastated? He knows if he performs well he will be in line for a bumper pay day next season. Whatsmore a delegation from Man City flew to Chile to persuade Alexis to sign precisely because Alexis was not sure of Pep. Its not a secret that Pep and Alexis did not have the greatest working relationship at Barca.

Well he shouldn't have turned down £300k a week from Arsenal should he?

Whys this?

posted on 1/9/17

Alexis is on £140k a week. Do people understand why he wasn't able to command £200k+ wages when he left Barca?

Wenger owned City and Sanchez big time fair play to him.

The fault lies with City, why leave it to deadline day to make a serious offer?

If City offered £60Mil on Monday and it was accepted everything would have be done as Arsenal could have found a replacement.

Best comment. Why did Man City leave it so late!

Stand corrected, 4 year deal..

posted on 1/9/17

Yup fault is cities..

If they were courting him all summer, should have made a £60m bid at the start.

Knowing City they wanted to leave it late to basically weaken Arsenal knowing there was no time to get a replacement, and hoping to exploit the situation.

Failed!

Ill informed comment

City made initial enquiries back in May and were told he wasn't for sale

As for the OP - "Well he shouldn't have turned down £300k a week from Arsenal should he?"

How entitled do you sound?

The player isn't obligated to extend his contract and why would he? Arsenal are further away from challenging for top spot and the CL, than they have been for many a year. No top class player is committing to that, especially when there is an opportunity to move to a club that can mount a serious challenge.

Arsenal clearly had no intention of letting Sanchez go and no intention of signing Lemar, so why the pretence? Makes no sense to me at all.

It's all water under the bridge now anyway.

Probably less entitled than a player who is apparently "devastated" that he has to actually see out the 4 year contract he signed up for.

posted on 1/9/17

City left it late because they thought he would be cheaper.

It backfired though as prices were actually much cheaper at the start of the window when they got Bernardo Silva for £40m or something. He'd have been £60m plus in August.

Sanchez got no choice now but to knuckle down, at least until January when maybe City can bid again. Chile need him fit and in form to help them qualify for the World Cup.

Given that he hasn't handed in a transfer request or shot his mouth off in the press, I think it's clear that Sanchez has no problem seeing out his contract.

If he is devastated, it is probably because he thought he was getting a move to a club who's ambitions match his own and then saw his club backtrack on it.

If he is devastated, it is probably because he realises now, that he has wasted 3 years of his career at a club that has no real ambition of competing at the highest level.

Arsenal have basically sold Sanchez down the river. I think that gives some entitlement to feel aggrieved, regardless of his contractual situation.

They had to do the yearly thing of lying to the fans look we tried to buy a player

Should have offered 93 million an one pound for Lemar 😂

Get fecked, he is a part of that failing side. If he was that good, that determined he'd of helped Arsenal to 4th in what was a poor quality PL all round.

1 League Cup which I think is a paltry return and I am unhappy at that lack of success

Do you actually think that winning 2 FA Cups should be deemed a success for a club of Arsenal's size?

Do you actually think that winning 2 FA Cups should be deemed a success when you have a manager who continually tries to hoodwink supporters into believing that the club has real title ambitions?

I'm pretty sure that he wasn't convinced to come to Arsenal by the prospect of winning the FA Cup.

Whilst I am sure he will treasure the experience of winning the FA Cup twice, Sanchez wants League & and Champions League titles.

The bottom line is that he will not achieve those aims at Arsenal as things stand.

Letting Sanchez get into the last year of his contract if he's so wanted and valuable to the club was bad business.

He chose to join Arsenal ffs. We had just won our first trophy in 9 years, if he was desperate for league titles he shouldn't have agreed to work for a manager who hadn't won one in a decade. No sympathy for him.

Agreed we aren't gonna the league with Wenger but Alexis has also been part of the team that messed up.

City haven't been close either to the league and Peps had to pump in another £200Mil this season to make you guys serious contenders.

Arsenal just don't want to compete even though they can.
