Hleb was a great wee player. That team with Cesc, Hleb and Flamini was as good to watch as any Arsenal team I've seen, some of the football was incredible.
Arsenal of now just don't seem to be able to carve teams open like that anymore.

It's been so long that even teams like Spurs have caught up and taken us over.
Genuinely don't know how Wenger can look at himself in the mirror anymore, there's being stubborn, and there's this.
Iwobi is possibly the one player we have who is good technically and physically. I still believe he can be a seriously good player for us and I hope he gets minutes this season.

IMO we lost the Cup Final due to wrong tactics rather than Arsenal having a superior midfield.
Cazorla is surprisingly quite strong, and obviously technical. He doesn't get barged off the ball much when in possession. Low centre of gravity then he wriggles free before they can push him some more. We miss him so much. Crazy Wenger never thought to buy someone to step in for him, especially as he basically played him every match. Had such a poor midfield since he was injured. Now looks like he'll be out until new year at least
That is why I hoped we would sign Barkley or Steven N'Zonzi kind of player. Good point. I really think we need more steel.
We've never replaced Vieira. Gilberto was a decent player but him and Vieira worked well together, our midfield physically was weak when Gilberto and Fabregas played together for those few seasons, Flamini had that good season in 2007/2008, then both him and Gilberto left after that and ever since we've literally had no one! Flamini 2nd spell was hit and miss.
Cazorla is not in the squad.
And I wouldnt call Welbeck or Giroud physical players.

OOPS I read you'd put Koscielny in the OP
Bellerin seems to have put on a lot of muscle over last season or so. Don't know why he isnt using it well. Maybe needs to be taught to use his body better against an opponent. Hope Wenger plays a lot of kolasanic especially in more physical games. The guy is basically built like a rugby player! But no doubt under Wenger, he'll end up as weak as a kitten and made to write a letter of apology to anyone he makes contact with
