A bit harsh, I'd still rather have a full selection of players and options available to pick from so I think it's a bad thing
It's never a good thing to have players injured.
However, I can name many players I'd rather not have injured than Gally, if that makes sense!!!
It might sound harsh, but if he's not available, Sven won't be tempted to pick him. Gally has regressed this season. He replaced Nugent up front at Forest, and that's when the game turned. All the talk was of Schmeichel, but the momentum was lost with that substitution, when Schlupp was available on the bench.

What is the manner of the injury? I hope it's not another soft tissue injury like Nugent's, because a collection of those would suggest that the fitness training isn't right.
As for Gallagher himself, hopefully he can use the month or so out to get his head back in the right place. He hasn't looked comfortable so far this season, so maybe the break will do him good.
This news, in addition with recent performances in a 4-3-3 compared to a diamond and King scoring last weekend, may result in a little more consistency in our team selection and formation.
Soft tissue damage, poor Hayley
"because a collection of those would suggest that the fitness training isn't right."
Dunge dont say that - a fitness coach is actually one of the few coaches we DO have! lol

Exactly!
Izzet - Precisely...
It comes back to an article earlier this week on whether the coaches are doing a good enough job.
"I see Gallagher will be out for 3-5 weeks. Not a bad thing on current form?"
Well - not a good thing to help him improve his current form....
Dunge - the case of first team coaches, espeically the lack of a Powell/Didi replacement, is one Ive thought about for a while. I cant help think that our once solid defence started dropping off around the time we lost DH.
But it comes down to - do we blindly believe in Sven? A manager of his stature and success surely knows what backroom staff he needs around him? And with resources available to him I doubt he having to compromise..

He got clattered just before HT on Saturday so its more likely to be that what caused the injury
I don't think we as fans blindly believe in anybody. I find it curious that we're reported to have less coaches than would be expected and than other Championship clubs. I'm curious that, despite having Sven's choice of fitness coach, we looked knackered against So'ton, Barnsley looked keener and we're starting to pick up injuries in the squad.
I'm sure it's all in hand and he knows what he's doing and there's a good reason for it, but that doesn't stop me being curious while I haven't yet seen a good answer for these things.
Foxestom8 - True, although I'm wondering whether it was that alone or a soft tissue injury as a result of that.
Got injured smashing in some back-doors !!!
From the Mercury: 'Leicester City midfielder Paul Gallagher could be out for up to five weeks after it was confirmed he damaged ankle ligaments during last Saturday's 1-1 draw at Barnsley.
The 27-year-old landed awkwardly on the raised perimeter of the Oakwell pitch and twisted his ankle towards the end of the first half, forcing him to be replaced by Andy King for the start of the second period.'
So King coming on and rescuing a point had nothing to do with Sven's Svengali type skill, pure luck forced by an injury, why aren't I surprised!!
You aren't surprised, TB, because you've got it in for Sven.
Could those who want it to be 'not a soft tissue injury' explain? You'd prefer it was a broken bone, or what?
Some people prefer soft tissue to the hard scratchy ones.
fatfox, that's not what I mean at all. Obviously I'd prefer it if there was no injury at all. The thing is that impact injuries are largely unavoidable in football, while pulls and the like are signs that a player isn't fit - or that the coaches aren't getting him fit enough. It's not that I want Gallagher to have a broken anything, it's more that I don't want it to be a sign that the coaches aren't doing their job properly.
Still, as mentioned above, it seems that it happened because of a freak accident , so the point's irrelevant.
I think Gally, along with King, are the 2 players who have suffered most from the summer of transfer activity.
The two of them have looked lost when playing this year - and I believe they don't really know their roles, or look comfortable with their team mates this year.
Gally is a very, very good player, as he showed last year. He'll come good again. Form is temporary, class is permanent.
