Why do people feel sorry for a footballer being paid about £30k a week?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Are people that earn a lot of money not supposed to have feelings like the rest of us then?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He could've gone on loan and played more regularly though if he wanted surely when Llorente came in?
Maybe he enjoys his current lifestyle, training and playing footy for a job with a good group of lads that have a decent team spirit, young energetic manager, nice comfortable 30 grand every 7 days in his bank account.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's not what Busby was saying though was it? You can't just assume all players who earn a lot of money are automatically enjoying themselves. Maybe he is but you'd think footballers tend to care about whether they are playing or not and playing well, especially someone in Janssen's position.

So, if I'm reading it correct, due to being short of homegrown players we are limited to a squad of 21, rather than 25. If we'd added in one more home grown player, we'd also be able to put three more players in the squad - including Jannsen?
I mean what the fack is GKN doing in there - do they need someone to carry everybody's bags from the airports? Might as well bin him off, Son can fulfil a wide MF role and have Janssen in instead.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
For every space you can't fill with a homegrown or club-trained player you get a place reduced. Needs to be 4 trained at the club (Not too sure if Rose is?) and 8 trained in the country (Kane, Trippier, Dele, Rose plus Winks and Walker-Peters).
i don't get the 21 thing for home grown? Man city dont even have any home grown players and im sure they have named 24

Dier and Davies don't count as homegrown which has hurt us
I'd rather GKN in the squad than Janssen. Janssen for a fact won't score any goals while GKN is one of our only players who can beat someone for pace

He should've gone then, I'm sure he had the chance to leave on loan. Surely he didn't think his chances of starting games had inproved this year, considering how last year went?
Could we not have left out Sissoko?

Only way we're going to know if it was a good decision to stay or not is in hindsight.
I personally agree that he'd have been wiser to leave because I don't see Poch playing him much, but then he may have a spot of luck with injuries to other players and gets his chance. Hope he can turn things around.

Ideally we would have sold Janssen for silly fee or loaned him, got rid of Sissoko and GNK who seems a waste of a squad place. and signed an attacking/centre mid and quick forward who is actually going to be given minutes.

Wasted those transfer fees and wages when we could have used it for 1-2 proper players. We're talking roughly £60m and about £150k a week or so.

I dunno what the big deal is. Someone told me the list for the group stages was submitted last Thursday or the day the summer window closed. Brighton wanted to take him but the player opted against it the later that day. I assume Brighton's interest was not last minute, Poch may have thought he'd be gone so why list him as a player? Either way, if we get past the group stage don't we get to jiggle the list if we want?
Yeah GNK and Sissoko are mystery signings, I was open minded about Sissoko at the time because of his best games at Newcastle he looked like a powerful direct player we could use. But he doesn't have a position in our team.
Janssen was a player we were looking to sign, an extra forward who was young and can develop. But that is hard to do with no game time..

Yep, but every club wastes money on players that don't work out. Sissoko and GKN are mysteries to me regarding why we signed them, but Janssen had a good profile (young, top scorer in Holland, back up to Kane).
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sissoko wasn't even signed on the basis he was potential or that he was at least impressive at his previous club. Whoever sanctioned that deal as well as whoever suggested it in the first place should be ashamed of themselves.

N'jie, Nkodu, Soldado and now Janssen - all are failure under Pochi who dubbed as a greatest coach since sliced bread.
