Long john are the days you can bring in players after the window closes
If true, this would be one of the biggest screw-ups of all time and would make us look an absolute shambles. To sell Drinkwater without being 100% certain of signing a replacement is almost too incompetent to put into words. Hopefully Rudkin would resign out of sheer embarrassment.

They'll appeal against this decision and hopefully have it overturned.
Step forward Almighty Amartey and our most capped ever international.
And Nev needs to dust down his transfer window thread.
I thought the PL had accepted that the paperwork had gone through and we were just awaiting clearance from Fifa. If that's the case then we could probably appeal and it's likely the PL would back us.
In the De Gea situation La Liga would never have supported an appeal from Real because they insisted that no paperwork had been received.
Maybe we should wait until we here this from a good source? If I believed everything I've read in the papers then Mahrez has already joined Man Utd, Arsenal, Roma, Chelsea, Spurs and Barcelona during the transfer window.

RL tweet that LCFC are "..... working to overcome some issues" and "exploring all options".
"Overcoming some issues" doesn't concern me as much as "exploring all options". That sounds like panic stations to me.

To even be in this situation is an embarrassment. I don't know how we could have allowed this to happen, we held all the cards, we didn't have to sell DD.
We'd been after Silva for over a year, we had 2 months to get this transfer moving, we should have had everything rubber stamped before allowing Drinkwater to leave.
This is just incompetence on a multi-million pound scale, and a decision that could have a massive impact on our season.
I'm guessing it was only when everyone else fell through at Chelsea they seriously bid for Drinkwater and the ball got rolling to get the transfers going.
It goes to appeal first, which is apparently more flexible than FIFA. After that... Well, time to buy some goolie clamps off Amazon and go after Rudkin.
Got to say, this reads like a complete ballsup.

We've signed him - check.
We're paying his wages - check.
He's potentially ineligible until January - whoops.
And what about the player himself? Beyond everything else, it seems incredibly unfair that he should somehow be barred from playing because of some administrative error. I hope the appeals committee see sense, but these are footballing authorities we're talking about. Sense rarely comes into it.

As I indicated previously I'm waiting to see the outcome of the Drinky/Silva moves (before equating Rudkin to a cut loaf).
It's not looking particularly good at present for Jon but we'll find out soon hopefully.
And we have to fork out 4 months wages for diddly squat
Well, at least he'll have good time to bed in and be ready when he can play. If ever that is π³
Wow, what an absolute farce, how have they managed to fack this up exactly?
14 seconds....
Should have applied for a 2 hour and 1 minute extension
..
it appears we missed deadline by a few seconds, so player not available till january.
If this was in real life and commerce, someone would get sacked over this, disgrace.
As Nelson from Simpsons would say .... HAHA
That really is poor, how have we applied for the 2 hour extension, and still missed out by 14 seconds?
