We will regret not selling Sanchez

Sorry, the linked article didn't mention the recent game against Liverpool, there are separate reports (http://bit.ly/2eFfTK4) about that incident.

I know it's a bit far-fetched but to have a player laughing when his team is being humiliated on the pitch has got to play on team-mate's minds.
--------------------------------------

I saw the incident and it was his reaction to being on the camera after the drubbing. 'More like they are going to blame me again'.

Which is exactly what he has just said after Chile's recent loss.

If there was a problem in the dressing room or training ground Wenger would have sold quickly. This is what he did to Anelka all those years ago.

It's nervous laughter.
It's the same laughter Arsenal fans across the world had watching that disaster.

This team needs judging at the end of next week.
After the transfer window, after World Cup qualifiers, after injuries - the first team will play for the first time.

All those years ago Wenger was a different man. He could get the team to work for him, now he is a shadow of his former self.

There is no way he would sell his best player now because of a training ground bust-up.

Of course he would. And he had the perfect excuse. Accept £60m or lose him for nothing. No one would have blamed him either looking at how supporters are annoyed that we didn't sell even after knowing there was no replacement coming.

Alexis is well aware that if he doesn't perform for the next season those clubs, PSG, Bayern, Real Madrid are not going to want him. The thing most important to those clubs is media coverage and hype. Alexis not performing for 6 months and being criticised by the media is going to hurt his marketability. So do you think he is going to sulk and hide?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

You're overlooking the fact that the World Cup is the biggest shop window in football. Madrid paid around €80M for James Rodríguez largely on the back of 5 World Cup games, not the scant impact or visibility he'd gained with Monaco.

As I said earlier, Chile's eventual failure to qualify could well be Arsenal's saving grace when it comes to the effort Alexis puts in this season.

World cup is only a get out for Alexis if he leaves looking for a club that late. Alexis can negotiate with foreign clubs in Jan. He cannot do that with Man City which is why they are willing to pay £20m for that privilege. A very silly player would go into the world cup without a contract. What happens if has a bad tournament or is injured? Injuries are very likely at World cups because (a) the players are tired after long seasons and (b) defenders from unknown nations are trying to make name for themselves.

Really the only choice Alexis and Ozil have is to perform. The World Cup is not a get out for either.

If we had sold him it what difference would it have made to any of us fans, just fifty mil in the clubs coffers never to see the light of day anytime soon,so we have Sanchez for the rest of the season,it's up to him to prove to another suitor that he's worth what he thinks he his.

The right move was to bring in a replacement then sell Sanchez.

His iindividual performance level should stay high at least until Jan when he can sign for someone else but his dressing room influence is what should worry people.

Jenius, yes, all that could well be.

He could also have a private agreement in place already, or have it sewn up in January and decide he can't be ar·sed from there on.

You mention injuries, and I agree that many of them are partly due to the toll a long, gruelling season can take on the body - but that can also serve as a reason to go easy on yourself, which is precisely what many players have been known to do.

Bottom line is that I don't buy the argument that Alexis has no choice but to perform to his best level this season for Arsenal; that at this moment in time there are certain unknown or undetermined factors that can sway him one way or the other.

I'm betting he'll be sold to Sh!tty in Jan

Wouldn't mind it if he was sold. But just not to City or any other English team.

Arsenal would have happily sold him. They see it better to cash in than lose £60m. They were only concerned about fan backlash.

I would agree with you regarding a lot of players.

Alexis though is one greedy sob. So if you think he has signed somewhere to deprive himself of the changing market circumstances is very very unlikely. In fact Man City briefing their favourite reporters of their intension to come back in Jan suggests there have been no promises and they fear the lure of PSG or Real Madrid. Especially because of the declining skills C.Ronaldo and Zidane's antipathy towards Bale.

In fact I think Real Madrid are favourites at the moment.

If any English club wants him they will have to get to the semis of the Champions League if that really is what he wants

They were gonna sell him to them but they couldnt get a replacement in time so it's city's fault they missed out on him the horrible club.
