Don’t want to start getting all overly negative and player bashing, but Hendo’s last game was against Norwich in February of this year. He’d already let 3 in when he went off with his injury in the 23rd minute!!! - so not sure where this 'starting to come good' comes from, sam.
so that's a goal conceded every 14 minutes or so, over his last two games...

I remember sph but however he had kept several clean sheets in the few matches prior and made a few worldies in a memeorbale victory over Villa at the City Ground, but admittedly I am beginning to think we should have went all out to sign a keeper this summer instead of half hearted derisory bids and missing out.
"half hearted derisory bids"
Your basis for this is what?
We bid 2m Euros for the Danish keeper
We put in multiple bids, I think the final total was around 2.3-2.5m when asking was 2.7m. Haggling on price isn't exactly part of bad business.
Our second 11 isn't too far behind our first and probably would of got dismantled either way with what Chelsea put out last night. It just shows exactly how much ground there is between a 2nd teir side recovering from decades of mismanagement and premier champions.
Probably better for the league that most of those that played last night won't play Saturday. No key injuries. Key players back in training.
Move on. Bring on Villa!
I've no definitive basis but as Monkey has stated above we haggled too much and missed out this also happened with the McGinn Lad from Hibs, if you really want the player you pay the price.
Although in fairness to us we did get Federici who is a solid experienced keeper but of course the injury curse struck again.
I won't be around all day on Sat' because I'm watching old cars chug uphill in deepest Gloucestershire, so some one else will have a write a match thread chaps.
That was a terrible performance from Henderson; was he used as a sacrificial annode to protect the confidence of Smith and Evitmov?
Prescott Hill Climb???!!
I am sure Strett said something last night about wanting to do a match thread - this is his time to shine!! (or you could just do one before you go, RFB!)
Not sure whether the choice of Hendo in nets was a move to protect the confidence of Smith, or not, but let's hope that was the plan!
Yes
I won't be back until 7pm ish so admin will have to moderate if I do it.
Prices are even more inflated than usual at the present time. With the financial situation the previous owner left the club in and also wanting to get good value for what we do spent (which is prudent), I'm not surprised we went through several bids and missed out a times.
We had a period of panic buying and clubs having our pants down, I prefer the organised approach to be honest. McKay was how much, 500k wasn't it?
Spot on Ray. Forest were used as a cash cow by several clubs during the Al Hasawi period. If the new owners are deliberately being obstinate and saying "Don't think we are as gullible as the last lot" then good on them!

Henderson has just come back from a serious injury. He will also need some time and patience. I suspect there is a good keeper in there. Let's be honest, Shelton in his prime would have struggled to keep the score down the other night.
Have a little perspective. We are all impatient to see Forest competing asap. It is going to take time and you'll just have to expect more than a few hiccups. The new regime are doi everything at the right tempo. I'd hate it for the gobby fans to put pressure on them to rip up the script and start gambling. If it takes two or three seasons to really get the club motoring again then so be it.
