Few year's time Rashford will be a decent player within United's structure while Mbappe will be one of the, if not the, best player of the new generation.

Nah, Rashford will be a world class attacker. So will Mbappe. Nothing really between them in a few years imo

Welbeck 142 appearances 29 goals in top team vs Rashford 79 appearances and 24 goals.

Neither have very good goal records...

Welbeck had 5 goals, 1 assist in 32 league appearances last season, and people are speaking as though he is destined to be a world player of the year candidate

That should say Rashford has 5 goals, 1 assist in 32 league appearances last season

Well were see, personally i think comparing the two will be as laughable as Januzaj vs Hazard and KDB in hindsight.

I'd like to believe that's true, I'm not so sure it will be so close. that's not taking from rashford who will be very good indeed, already is rather good as is. But mbappe I think will hit the very top.

I think it's the usual story that a young star in a foreign league will always be considered the greater talent than the guy we all get to see week in week out.
A lot is simply down to how much exposure we get to each.....Mbappe for most will be predominantly highlights, and as he has always played as a pure attacker in very attack minded (and dominant) teams, his highlights will look great. Rashford on the other hand we have all seen every week since he first burst on the scene. He has good games and bad, great moments in a game and then some not so great. This leaves us with the opinion that he is less polished when I suspect the same is very true of both at this stage.

You seem very knowledgeable about the guy... Which was his standout league game, so we can educate ourselves

Rashford may not hit the heights of Mbappe as one plays in his position and the other plays in a different position to the one he was playing in his debut season. Rashford started as a CF and now is a LWF competing with another of our LWF who we bought for 36-50 million. And up front he is competing with a striker that suits the current manager's view of a number 9 and cost 75-90m. I still think he will go one to be a great player but not on the top tier.

Speaking of that... Where does mbappe play for PSG? Inside right forward?

I actually think Mbappe might struggle a bit at PSG as in the games I’ve seen him in Neymar and Cavani hog the ball. Mbappe will do well there but IMO not as well as if he joined a club where he would be the main man.

Mbappe is only 18.He will be fine as long as he works on his game and gets the right support.

It is difficult to understand the point of your article, it is almost like you are trying to say why is there more focus on Mbappe than Rashford even though you already know who the better player is who happens to be a year younger than Rashford.

I personally havent seen enough from rashford to say he will have a "GREAT" future. He has his strengths and weaknesses. When compared to Mbappe he still appears raw despite being older and Im not sure he should play on the wing but be developed more in a central role.

Mbappe is not perfect by the way, still makes his mistakes and some may argue plays in a weaker league but his explouts in the CL is why he is attracting the attention.

For me when I compare both players it comes down to this "Decision Making in the final third"

For all the skill in the world if your appreciation for space in the box is limited and your decision making haywire you will just be another Martial.

But if you have the kind of decision making players like Messi had at the age of 17 or 18 chances are you are destined for the top.

At this stage Mbappe has shown that more than any young talent in todays game.Even Jesus who I rate a lot does not have that.

Gabriel Jesus 1st with 101.3 rating
Christian Pulisic 2nd with 101.1 rating
Marcus Rashford 3rd with 100.9
Ousmane Dembele 4th with 96.3 rating
Kylian Mbappe 6th with 93.6 rating

I bet you google 'Golden Boy' quite a lot.

I Believe there is very little between them tbf. Mbappe is more accomplished in the final third, however, he plays in French ligue 1!! This is on par, in terms of overall quality, with the Championship. So comparison is slightly flawed in this matter. Rashford, playing in that league would excell. I would not swap as Marcus is a home grown lad and, IMO, has a very bright future indeed. Both will be great players.
