Great post.

My biggest frustration with the result yesterday was that unnecessary individual errors cost us the game. Maguire in my view needs to take responsibility for that loss.

Defend defend defend. In a counter attacking team, your job is to sit deep, soak up pressure and prevent goals. Not play a one two to try and break through on goal leaving your whole team exposed at the back.

I like Maguire and I think he's had a good start for us. But he has to cut that out.

Other points worth noting. Andy King was superb yesterday. Not just good, excellent. His covering play and passing range in the middle showed Henderson and Can up. Credit to him. Shut up his dissenters - I'm sure Dunge won't mention it at all.

Okazaki our MOTM for the second time in a week. Great performance again.

Kasper cost us a goal poor keeping

contributed to us conceding....yup.

An 8 out of 10 Schmeichel probably saves at least one of those goals.

The individual errors are frustrating because on the whole, the majority of players were between decent and very good. It's almost like it's our first season back in the PL and we are being punished for these errors.

You're right Mersey though, Maguire does not need to push out like that in a team that plays our tactics - hopefully a learning curve that can be nipped in the butt.

Looking forward to Dunge's post - hurry up please!

Agree Kasper (and Chilwell) were at fault for the first goal.

Fuchs back next week please. Also gives us flexibility to switch to a back 3 if 4-4-2 is not working.

Thought Chilwell had a good game.

And on the first goal we should give some serious credit to the quality of the cross from Coutinho - it was perfect and made Salah's job easy.

I thought it was an incredibly good header by Salah...still....if Mahrez is doing his job (similar to the Athletico game) the cross may not come in and Kasper will probably be disappointed.

Thought Chilwell grew into the game, like a few players actually. Was still a bit hit and miss and dependent at times on Albrighton's support, but hey, that's a wingers job.

Making progress, but still would have Fuchs back but continue to bring Chilwell through like we are.

4. Referees and their minions.

Out of interest, why wasn't Mignolet sent off for his second bookable offence when he clobbered Vardy?

His first, well that was the blatant shirt pull on OKI when he scored, as clear a yellow as any?

I think there was lots that the ref didn't see correctly yesterday.

The penalty was a correct one but the first goal should not have stood as Mignolet was blocked by Okazaki.

Tip of the iceberg.

Well it's all about opinions isn't it. King excellent? I thought King was typical King: neat and tidy, but largely ineffective.

The performance probably sums up where we are right now. A lot of huff and puff, but an absence of real quality. Frustrating as we should have got a point and maybe more if Vardy's penalty had gone in.

Maguire did cost us a goal, but I do like him and wouldn't want to constrain his game too much. I think a back 3 might suit him as it would allow him some licence to join the midfield at times. He needs to work within the limits of his game. His long range passing for instance is pretty poor.

It's ironic that the Gray thread has appeared today as I thought it was one of his better games. I've been more critical of him than most, but I thought he played a more thoughtful role than usual. He outshone Mahrez who had one of those games that largely passed him by.

I guess my final observation is on Kasper. He appears to have slipped from the heights he got to over the past two seasons. He's letting in goals that he might usually have saved or at least got closer to. I just hope that it's a temporary thing and he's not losing motivation in a "I've gone as far as I can with this team" kind of way.

Agree on Gray and Kasper. However knowing how dedicated and professional he is, I'd be surprised if he'd lost motivation.

I think as a defensive unit we need to "re-gel", and that includes Kasper.
