If see can get the new players integrated into the team then we stand a good chance my worry is confidence will drop and it will be last year all over again.

Not a chance of it looking like last year, Shakey has the players well up for it playing them the way they know how, just need to get everyone back fit and raring to go.

We should have two points more, own fault at Arsenal, poor defending and refs incompetance with Liverpool.
Bournemouth are better than their position, but are we?
Defence is shaky,attack unconvincing.
CS doesn't inspire with subs or tactics, still think he is too close to players, and is a better no two Than as prem manager.
Hope I am proved wrong, the next few weeks will tell.
Unlike the last few seasons, I dont think that there are any really poor teams in prem, even Palace could come good .
We need to put a run together over next few weeks, but not convinced we have players and manager to do this.
Hope am wrong, but worry that we could spend much of season in relegation fight,we should be too good for that.
Next few weeks so important, fear there could changes around Halloween.
Could a ghostly apparition take his head out of the sand and reappear from the past !!
stranger things have happened.

I think the top 4 or 5 teams will pillage points left right and centre. The rest is anyones game and if we can string a good few wins together we could put ourselves right in the top ten. A few more defeats next month will see us struggling

Despite TB's blind faith in anyone connect to NP. the jury's out i want it to work but the new players we have are key to this not James king etc. Change of tactics will the players let him.

Fingers crossed we don't need every season to be a great escape mk1 mk2 or now mk3.

Time for the team to grow up and be able to play the way we need to rather than the way we want to.

I think the positives so far are:

- We have players knocking on the door in most positions, particularly down the spine of the team. So there is genuine competition for places and the threat to the chosen 11 of removal if they continue to not pick up points. There are options available.

- Although it's disappointing that we haven't picked up any points against the top 6 teams we've played, we have played them and the fixtures should get theoretically easier.

- The team are clearly trying. Whatever faults there are on the pitch, they're not for lack of effort. In this way, we looks stronger than at this point last season where we looked hungover.

- We look capable of scoring.

On the negative:

- Shakespeare doesn't appear a tactically strong manager. In fact the way his team are playing and applying themselves looks a lot like Pearson's did. Pearson's tactics - while not as good as Ranieri's - are often unfairly maligned; but Shakespeare doesn't look even up to that standard yet.

- The team defending has been littered with mistakes, which need to be cut out. But can they be without affecting the attack?

- There is a rot that needs to be stopped.

It's frustrating that the next two games are games where we've struggled over recent years (B'mouth away; West Brom at home) but this team are going to have to find a way of turning things around before they get real pressure on themselves.

Haha, despite Nev's perverse hatred of NP and any links to his legacy I'd rather look at the facts.

Shakey has now been in charge for exactly half a season and I'm those 19 matches gained 27 points, double that for a season and that's 8th place on last season's table.

In those 19 we've played the top 6 teams 8 times so add s bit for that and we're challenging Everton for a Europa place.

I'd settle for that, no hatred or delusions of grandeur from me!

You can add a further two points to the meagre tally. I have only just reviewed the highlights of the Huddersfield game within the last few hours, so adrift of current times am I.

I don't wish to turn into a "told you so" but I did point out Maguire's slowness to react prior to the club acquiring his signature, and he was beaten far too easily in the lead up to their goal, with no covering defender between himself and our goalkeeper.

I shall move on to the next recording in sequence and see how he fared there.

Said this before and I'll say again. Shakespeare will get the boot this season no doubt about it. Not sure what the hell anyone was thinking taking on a caretaker manager with no experience whatsoever. He was good to pull you out of a hole last season like Sherwood was for us ( short term) but you have gone from Raneiri to Shakespeare. Really ? Talk about take a step down in class. He will get the boot this season. Bookmark this

Dan you may be right, but other question to you is--
Will he last longer at our club than Ali will at ours?
Where will Kane be net season ?
Ali will have head turned by lucrative offers, and if you arent in CLnext season Kane will def be off.
Shame for Spurs fans , 2 great seasons, but no real memories.

Silly Don. Moving on...

Dunge has summarised it pretty well. For me, the test of Shakespeare's mettle is whether he can get the midfield settled and protecting the back 4. We need Silva available and Iborra up to speed asap.

Once we have this, like TB I'm confident we have enough attacking threat to cause problems for most teams.

We just need to stop conceding silly goals.

Over to you Shakey. Prove Don wrong (shouldn't be hard).

Thorny, Kane will be at Spurs a lot longer than shakey I tell you that but nice try Harry Kane ain't leaving anytime soon so keep dreaming.

Anyway I'll give it 2 seasons before your back in the championship again

Ultimately Kane will probably have to leave if he genuinely wants to win stuff in his career. Credit to him if he stays though; that kind of loyalty is in short supply these days.

Since when have Spurs fans been right about ANYTHING? !

Don, Ali will go soon, you wont be in champs league next season, you have had 2 good seasons with nothing to show for it, and of course , you came third in a two horse race .Dont think you have anything to offer us on this board.
We have over achieved recently, and been far more succesfull than you club has been since early sixties.
Londons third club, at best.!!

I give it till the end of this season and you'll be back out of the top four.

Yep KTF the pressure could start now. If we lose the next 3 and that includes West Brom our bogey team at home,
the comments on here will be mindbggling ( and thats without cocky Spurs fans sticking their oar in)

and Don are you old enough to remember Spurs winning the league.I can remember Leicester winning it. You,ll
probably beat Huddersfield on Saturday, but then unfortunately its back to Wenbley. Its looking like at least the 2 mancs and Chelsea will finish above you and probably the Ars, they usually do.
