Chelsea fans applauded Qarabag's player the other week when he went off. Applauded torres when he came on for atletico as well. Always good to see.
We should give them a special welcome when they visit us at Wembley👏

Anyway, i've been putting up this front when it comes to debating Harry Kane. My reasoning is he's not considered world class until he wins and trophies, plays for a big team, blah blah blah.
Truth is he's a World Class player. A truly exceptional finisher. Last player i put up a front for was Gareth Bale.
Although i'd love for him to move abroad and therefore set Tottenham back to the road of mediocrity, i'd be sorry to see him leave the PL. We need to see young local English players like him flourish in the game to be one of the best in the world.
And as an Englishman i'd want him to be at his peak in the World Cup. I can see Kane, Rashford and Sterling light up the attack side of our game.
That’s good to hear, however a standing ovation from the whole ground is very rare indeed.
I know most fans do applaud former players and also players who go off injured from the opposition.
It is just that we hear very little in the media etc about these good bits in football, probably because they don’t sell papers etc, only bad news seems good to some

Utd did it for Ronaldo when he scored a hatrick against us in the CL.
this was a huge match between 2 great clubs...
Huddersfield applauding an opposition player isn't anything really... its like a chef down the local toby carvery complimenting Gordon ramseys food.
Tribalism blinds many fans. I applauded Ronaldo off the pitch at Anfiled when Real beat us 4 nil, he was unreal, what can you do but show appreciation when an opposition player is that good?
this was a huge match between 2 great clubs...
who was the other great club Dunc?
Madrid applauded Ronaldinho when he destroyed them at the Bernabeu.
You can't hate on class players forever.

Seriously though, Kane is definitely on the road to being World class. His work ethic is second to none, both on and off the pitch.
He is also a very nice guy, who doesn’t appear to have an arrogant nature, and just recognises how lucky he is to be such a talented player.
The opposition keeper still gets appluaded by the Kop at every home game when he takes his place. And have seen plenty of opposition fans at Anfield in the CL appluad our players and fans.

He gets a lot of stick but he's def not in Chadwick or Phil Jones category.
Nothing beats the sporting gesture the Arsenal team gave to United when they beat us with a back 5 of Blacket, McNair, Smalling, Young & Valencia. A standing ovation for 95 mins.

he's worse than Jones... Jones only looks really bad when he is gurning
There's no link to being world class & your looks. Gareth Bale looks like Cornelius from Planet of the Apes & he's genuine world class.
It’s nothing new. Maradona got it in an away match, Ronaldo got it at OT, Ronaldinho got it at the Bernabéu, Iniesta still gets it just about anywhere in Spain.
Surprised that lot could actually use their hands to clap as opposed to those two-bob plastic clapper things that are more pointless and irritating than the vuvuzelas.
Kane isn't that bad looking ffs, just got an overly large tongue that is all.
Considering some of the munters we have had play for us as well (Modric, Crouch, BAE etc)
Geni'Greavsie.
Terrific performance by your Man,
Despite being on the end of a four nil thump, Marvelous to watch.
No shame in it for me being beaten by what must be very close to the best side in the Country at the moment..
besides Saturday's appreciation...
I hope we are all doing the same again when he turns out for ENGLAND
great Player.

They're actually cardboard but whatever. My 6 year old loves getting one when he goes to the games as it's the best way he can make some noise so I don't see what your problem is.
In response to the OP, thanks for your kind words. I've been going to Town for more than 25 years and that's the first time I've seen our fans appreciate a player to that extent. To be fair Kane was brilliant, one of the best I've ever seen play against us. I was sat at in a great position to see the third goal and he made it look effortless. Eriksen was a joy to watch as well.
Your fans were a credit to you also. Spoke to a few before and after the game and they were very complimentary about us. Some decent banter between both sets of supporters all throughout the game too. I'd waited years to finally see us play Spurs and really hope we can do enough to make sure it happens again next season
