I don't like to see Ferry dropped, however I can understand why he left him out. It's well known that Crawley are a very physical side and maybe Paolo felt more strength was needed in the centre of the park. When I saw the team-sheet I questioned whether this was the right decision but I can't critisise Paolo decision to leave him out cause it proved to be the right decision.
Hindsight is a fact.
IMO, Ferry is an asset to the club. I wouldn't want him to feel that he is an outcast. Same as Caddis.
We won't get better players than those 2 in this division.
But was ferry's replacement more physical than him? Ritchie seems to play better with him in the side also. Could understand Paulo's tactics if he were to put a more robust midfielder in there, but I don't think Ahmeed is. He seems a direct replacement for him.
Anyway we won, so I guess Paulo was right and I'm not. Looking forward to the Burton on Saturday and who'll be in the line up.
Ahmeed ain't ours. SF is! IMO we want the long term.
Build with the bricks that you've got.
Exactly red, I wouldn't mind so much if I thought he was better than ferry. But he isn't.
Think Paolo mentioned he wanted to play a younger side against Crawley, don't quite understand that ? I also think Si should of kept his starting place last night. My choice would be start with Ferry and then bring on Abdulla and not the other way round. Think the combination of Ferry for his quick feet and an eye for a killer pass along with either Smith or McCormack for their strength in the middle is our strongest option. Sounded like Miles Storey also made a big impact when he come on and if used towards the end of games I'm sure he will continue terrorise tired defences. Won't be taking anything for granted this Saturday at Burton but at least now we are looking like a team who are serious about re-gaining our first division status.
